  1. I agree Dave ha ha every time a car goes up for sale on here it's like 'ah nice car mate good luck with the sale' some of them fucking need all the luck they can get! And for god sake why can't anyone see that I do get the appeal of a 4paw-- I wanted to buy one at the end of the day but am just not willing to part with that much money for one!! So all I was saying is that it's pretty much shattered my dreams for ever buying one as well as all this abuse!

Paul me and you have really got on in other threads but you've completely lost it in this one, maybe it has got out of hand but I don't see why you have to be so personal about things, cars are my life but as pointed out- they are cars at the end of the day I'm not slagging your family or anything like that. Quite funny you should mention the carbon prop as I noticed the add in last months banzai I think it was and though exactly the same- that it'd be an awesome mod.

I wasnt comparing the scooby I used to own, to an ep95 I was just stating that I've got enough cash in the bank to buy one. Slag it all you want it was a lovely car not your typical crap one- even I will admit that the handling wasnt great not a patch on evos I've driven and higher spec scoobys like the rb320 or a well sorted sti but still, it was a nice car. Am I going to get slated just for saying like other cars than just starlets. My first ever car was a mint sr.

I'm sorry for offending people ok but had my opinion and respect others as long as they aren't direct abuse at me! And ok so the 95 in question come with a box fair enough. The paint would need sorting properly if it were mine as I'm pretty ridgid with things like that and would want it perfect. Yes a lot of things can be helped with polish and detailing but I can't help wanting things to be perfect.

Anywho I've said my bit. If I buy the celica back then ill see you on the track shorty and see what you've got, people like you fuck me off too if I'm honest but I gues we can't get along with everyone can we.

Thanks for seeing past all the bulshit morgey by the way, cracking car you built up there.

  2. Why do people think I can't afford it? And This is the rant section! Where you are actually ment to be allowed to rant! If I put 6k into that ep95 on top of paying 3500 for it and put 6k plus the difference I'd save on the celica then that starlet would touch it for dust. And I could list a hell of a lot of 2nd hand cars that would. I do agree that buy cheap buy twice I get it but that's not what this is about.

I've tried to be nice about things but you're actually fucking pissing me off now!! It's my opinion, I havnt bitched on his for sale thread and actually said good luck with the sale. Fucks me off that everyone has to get so personal and abusive. And you're implying I don't know shit about cars by telling me to go do my home work, it's a joke.

  3. Oh dear thought I might get responses like this. Look guys at the end of the day it's a lot of cash for what it is. And actually I'm very well sorted with my knowledge of all toyotas especially starlets thanks as I used to own one!! But I came here looking to dabble with them again and I can't find a decent one that is a reasonable price for both parties.

I sold my celica for just under 6k and it was a weapon and extremely clean. I can afford the asking prices of all the starlets I've looked at but walked away because of their poor condition be it body work or tatty engine bays and rubbish interior. Id pay what ever something is worth at the end of the day. I am a massive Toyota fan and have only ever owned one other make of car which was an Impreza gb270 number 1 of 100 ever made which I sold for 12k!

Honestly can't believe how personal everyone gets on here I'm entitled to my opinion and know quite a few other lads that came back here trying to get another starlet but gave up. My surname is pike ha ha but guess I leave myself open to 'witty' comments like those with my screen name- you are welcome to come and see me at the next jap fest if you still feel you need to cry about things.

Clean and problem free? Is hasn't got an engine, box, full loom and needs a full re spray! At the end of the day I CAN see the potential in it but not for that price. We all want to get a decent price for what we own of course we do but come on really....?

  4. Over priced starlets!!!

Here comes some abuse my way I think but never mind as I'm giving up on the starlet dream. In light of my recent attempts to find a decent starlet at a reasonable price and the latest ep95 for sale price I can't bite my grumpy old man tongue anymore!

Ep95: 3500 for whats basically a heap with 4wd thats impossible to find spares for. you wouldnt pay that for a fucked tommy mak evo in the same state so why pay it for that? It is a lot of cash and I know they are rare but this for me has put the final nail in the coffin for my ep95 project dreams. If I have to pay even 3k for something in that current state then it's just insane. I really hope someone with deep pockets snaps it up though.

Sr's: that arent fucking sr's anymore! Most have been butchered into anything but an sr! (Glanza reps!!!!!) Why buy a rare starlet and change everything about it that makes it rare?! Go buy a bloody sportif or something and do it to one of those! (Engine conversions are fine though :)) and when I find a clean one its just a mental asking price!

Since when did starlets become so bloody expensive anyway?! Every single glanza I've gone to potentially buy has been hanging out of its own arse and priced by mentalists! Just in comparison, I've been offered my old gt4 back for a crazily low price (sub 2k!) with a blown engine but the spec list i built on it before selling is huge. Just in parts it's 8k alone! Anyone wanting a spec list then ill gladly post up!- motec m4pro, big garrett etc etc.

My point on the whole is that I love starlets but for the same money that you might actually be able to find a nice clean one for, there are much better options out there now adays! And for those thinking 'go buy your fucking celica back then arsehole' I think I will!!

  5. Rant: mental car adverts and the plonkers that write them.... Check out the link below to I think the worst celica I've ever seen In my life and the boldest bhp statement from an absolute heap of shit coupled with pricing for parts from another planet:

    http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=151100773114&index=0&nav=WATCHING&nid=22913775726

Why are some people so mental? And my god why do people insist on ruining Celicas like that!

  6. i've already emailed Ricky, i know exactly what i'd do. the thread is just to get a feel really for level of service, quality of parts and reliability really. Ah shame you're not closer i'd come and blag a passenger ride in yours ;)

  7. I invested a lot of cash into it over the years, can't belive i let it go and the guy could see how gutted i was watching him drive away. yeh he hopes it will soon as he became injured at work around the same time the engine blew and is currently trying to claim for the injury i think. but im worried itll need a full overhall now such as brakes, suspension etc. it shines like red glass on his drive as he washes and polishes it all the time

  8. V jealous! looks v nice mate. yep that was her, sits up the road with a new owner and blown engine now :( torture. i had the celica and a corolla as a run around but i found the celica just sat there all week and felt that two lots of running costs wasn't really saving me at all lol so bit the bullit and got rid. here's the link to it: http://www.ukstarletowners.com/topic/67348-toyota-nut-a-few-of-my-old-cars/

  9. Thanks for the replies guys. I've looked a lot at each main tuner and their feedback. Got to say Mike and Nick at TD seem to be getting a rough time on here at the moment. I used TD for my turbo, fuelling and cooling set up on the celica but they are too far away really if there are teething issues like there was with the celica, helpful bunch of lads though and they bent over backwards to help me out.

Can I just say my issue with my last car was I used three different tuning companies for different services and i'd never do it again as I can fully understand that if something goes wrong then each tuner will be warey of the other's work and you're screwed for finding the blame of a problem. These new 'roll in roll out' services are great though.

Most warranties only include the running in phase don't they so as soon as you put any boost or real revs through it you're pretty much on you're own.

Hugely impressed with anything I've seen involving RaceTech. Gues i'm pretty much answering my own questions but it's a lot of money to throw around and I want to be sure

  10. Hi all, i'm looking for people to share their experiences with forging their engines. I was thinking if we do a set layout of info:

. The company who did the engine work:

. Who mapped it (if diff to engine builder):

. How it's running or how long it lasted before it blew:

    . Overall experience:

Not massively after enigne specs but if you like you could add which tuning package you opted for if the company quotes one on their site.

I havn't seen this covered and i've gone back two years on here but please post the link if you're aware of it.

The basic reason i'm asking this is because as soon as i get hold of a decent glanza or engine i'll probs be forging it however, i got massively screwed over with my GT4 so want to avoid this. Please lets not turn this into a company slating sesh though, a simple description of your experience will be perfect :)
