probably clutch mate, my spec friction plate went after 900 miles,it was dragging badly then finally went. splines disentegrated. i could select gears with the motor off but not select any when engine was running. made a horrible noise.it buggered the input shaft too. sounds similar

knock sensor fault, ecu will retard timing. check wiring, if thats okay replace sensor.

Right I'm thinking about going lower, arches are rolled, but the tyres still scrub on the rear bumper bracket. Has anyone done anything to remedy this?

Made it back with not one reported issue 3200 miles in total. Had a cracker of a drive through France, as bumped into loads of cars on the way back from Le Mans. This car always manages to surprise me how quick it is on the motorway l

No garage queens here, rain or shine

So I have driven the car to southern Spain for a holiday, drobe the car for two 14 hour sessions and it didn't miss a beat. Driving through the Spanish mountain reigon was an experience...so many tunnels! Here's a few pics so far

Well I made it to Marbella, nearly 24 hours of driving in two days. I'm hot and broken. Car did not miss a beat though. Here's a couple of pics

Taking spare fuel pump, turbo,belts few other little bits and pieces. Puncture repair kit. Got a 20l Jerry can of fuel in there because of the France trouble!

Haha will do, should be fine, got all manor of spares and stuff. The breakdown cover was with RAC it was about 170 and had unlimited recovery back to the uk.

I'm heading out to Marbella in the starlet on Monday night. Paid for European recovery. taking fuel and tools Incase anything happens. Hopefully it makes it!

So the car mad a good result this morning

Small update, had a few issues at mapping. Still had this top end rattle, stripped the car down only to find the head had 4efe valve springs and the valves where very poorly seated. Either way, fitted some tuning developments valve springs, reseated all the valves, and reshimmed. it may have had FE cams in it so we swapped my old fte cams over. The car sounds and drives so much better. Going back in for mapping tomorrow and hopefully make some decent power. In fairness to the engine builder we sent the head off to a machine shop to be sorted, so just bolted it on when we got it back. This time all the work was done in house. Also sent my td04 off to Liam at midland turbo to be rebuilt Well I have learnt a lesson about buying second hand parts! Here's a shot of the car after it was back on the road Had to fit a new adjustable actuator, along with a triple core civic rad too

Right has anyone fitted these? As per starlet isn't on the list of cars on the instructions, any ideas on how to fit?
