Firstly, these pistons arent for a starlet but there isn't alot of info out there for gttis and didnt know where to ask. I have a set of wossner forged pistons that were custom made to fit the standard bore. However ive tried two blocks and the clearances are at 6thou despite being standard bore size. The pistona do slap when cold and but before stripped the engine didn't smoke. Wossner have very little info on the pistons as they were custom made and cost £990!! Going off the clearance given by wossner for starlets 0.07mm these are double that.

Got some custom rears that replace all 4 lines at the back

They are all pretty bad. Have a spare block but that piston doesn't look reusable to me. May go back to standard pistons were are semi forged anyway. Or buy some other forged ones

Decided to whip the engine out over the weekend and give it some love like i did to the starlet. Few mixed findings really. Confirmed the engine was forged, but a few downers. Piston seem to slap a bit when cold and this is visible with the head off although i believe clearances are measured at the bottom of the bore? Also middle cylinder seems to have det/ impact marks . Pistons were a custom £990 jobby

More likely to block water etc i would have thought

Give them a ring, they can get bits in. Otherwise try find a part number and look on US ebay

Pretty sure this has been through owners alot recently. Id say 2700 with the mileage is a little steep

Much better turbo than a ct9, cheaper than ct9 hybrid same capable of same sort of power but available for alot less. Also if you do ever want more power td04 bolts straight over
-
Go for a tf035 mate Go for a tf035 mate

Seems a shame to have a manifold like a godzilla just for the ct9. I think you'll regret getting when and staying ct9

Charade. They aren't super high but more than your average glanza and going up. I agree
-
If they are anything like the gttis you may be waiting a while. Coming up to 30years old only 14ish left on the road and dont sell for high prices at all. One on ebay at 9k but very good, and another at 4,500 but doubt it will go at that

Dont think they'll ever reach the value of renault 5s etc

Vac lines on the wrong way on throttle body

I got some cardboard and did a rough outline then traced around it

This arrived today, unsure what im gonna do with it yet. Options are cut the arches out and put some bolt arches and new sills. Strip it out and put a b16 or similar in it and track car and keep mine fresh and clean. Or just get the spares i need and pass it on
-
Depends who you get though
-
Needs reassembling or may just use the bits as spares. Be a shame to break it as they are very rare see how much time and money i have available.
-
Thanks mate! Will be locked away for a bit but be out for the better weather and hopefuly a track demon

If you are gonna go through the effort to clean them you may aswell Do it properly

Rather be 'over braked' for the power than over powered for the brakes... Easy to keep adding power than realise the brakes are shit. Personally wouldnt waste any money on the standard front brakes. Had them rebuilt new disks, pads braided lines fluid etc, still had more faith sticking my hand out the window to slow down.
