  1. Thanks guys. The standard rods are known for bending anywhere near 300lb/ft torque. The standard bam/amk pistons have been known to run 450ish hp without issues. Also air ride lol, let's not go there that's for people with 1.1 engine who like to go sllooooowww lmao
  2. The day it came back after having the engine rebuild and it decided to snap a coilspring The result Drives much firmer bit still feels like shock and spring unlike D2 coilovers lmao. Annddd more goodies... Back to the team @ BGK Tuning as I don't work on audi's. Old vs New comparison So because I'd bought the downpipe, I decided to buy the Relentless v4 manifold. Which is the revised version of previous ones, which flows well and has been vigorously tested. Which led me to finding this... Cracked hotside on the turbo. Casually sat under the car whilst the exhaust was modified to fit the downpipe, also had the resonator removed. And finally some of how she currently sits awaiting her new clutch and then mapping @ unicorn motor developments. I went for a stage3 competition clutch, waiting for a single mass flywheel to be delivered. And finally a few pics of the new turbine and housing... That's all for now, need the new clutch in, 500mile bedding in and it will then be sent to Unicorn Motor Developments in Stockport for mapping. Thanks for reading and hopefully she will smoke my brothers glanza in my dreams haha. Tayyib
  3. With the little brother's R32..which killed the S3 over 110mph. Oversize turbo intake pipe, found about 7 holes in the old one. Old cracked cylinder head, Freshly rebuilt with new valve guides and new valve stem seals, vvt transferred to apx head. As you can see cylinder one was where the head had cracked and caused the headgasket and misfiring issues. Goodies..... She lived again... forabit lol.
  4. It's been an amazing car until problems arised with the headgasket, which has eventually brought the car to the spec it is now. This is my first build thread I've ever done so please bare with me. Jan 2013 I came from the japworld to the audi scene. Spec: Revo stage one map Forge 007p Front mount intercooler Lowered 25-30mm Since then she's had the following: *DM rifle drilled forged rods *Fully rebuilt APX cylinder head *Audi oil pump *Gates racing timing belt kit *goatze piston rings *Relentless x-pro4 manifold *Relentless decat/downpipe *Pec big end bearings *Elring Headgasket *BGK stage 4 hybrid turbo *Brembo discs, ebc yellow stuff pads & hel braided lines *Polybushed front wishbones *Polybushed dogbone *All Intercooler pipe work replaced with solid piping for better flow and less chances boost leaks. * customised milltek cat-back. (Resonator removed) * fk coilovers * 3" tip (r-tech) * bores honed and notched * crankshaft polished Probably missed loads. Currently she is awaiting a new clutch/flywheel as the slave cylinder has failed.
  5. Hi people. Ive come on the forum after a long time. Still drive starlets just don't own one anymore Some of you may remember me, for those who don't I am Idrees and Aamir's brother. So here goes I'll start with a quick recap on my old cars and then on to the S3 build. Enjoy!!
  6. That's what I need, coilovers are too stiff, had meister r's on my old ep3 and didn't find it fully comfortable to drive daily. I've had the koni's, KYB sr specials, Monroe shocks all on previous starlets, and they were perfect for handling and comfort.
  7. Hi as above, don't want to go for coilovers as they aren't good for the roads around me, KYB new sr specials, koni's or similar please. Cash waiting
  8. Hi il take this depending on where your located?
  9. Pm'd
  10. i'm 99% sure i saw this at jae a few yrs back. nice buy anyway. looks wicked
  11. best thing to use with the carbon lips is to drill holes through the fixing points on the bottom side of it and use self tappers. then use something like stikkaflex/carbond. will be secured nicely.
  12. Extend it straight up from your brake light in the rear window mate..
  13. just a few pics i got with a mates crx. http://photos-c.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-sn...94_155139_n.jpg http://photos-e.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-sn...6_6321551_n.jpg http://photos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-sn...5_5537893_n.jpg http://photos-c.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-sn...94_155139_n.jpg http://photos-b.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-sn...3_5533012_n.jpg http://photos-c.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-sn...94_155139_n.jpg
  14. What colour guys? Give me some recommendations? they need a refurb, just dont know what colour yet?
  15. its only running 0.5 bar boost at the moment. so i should be ok boosting until i get an emanage and get it mapped at a bar.
  16. been a long journey, but well worth it. Dad wants me to sell up telling me to buy an a3. but i think im sticking with this.
  17. noticed i havent updated my build thread on here: Then began the Respray by the all famous Idrees, my lil bro, as the bodywork was in bad condition and needed some tlc. Idrees Four days of absolute hard work by Idrees, a couple of mates & myself. Carbon lip added: Idreesâ??s wheels: Sparcoâ??s currently awaiting respray On the Rollers Currently collecting parts for the turbo conversion, and some good weather for it to be done. The car is sitting on Koni shocks and springs approx 40mm drop, and also has had a rear disc conversion and running drilled and grooved discs at the front with Glanza callipers. So far stacked to be fitted: 4E-FTE engine Glanza Gearbox, shafts and hubs Cat 1 alarm Electric mirrors ECU dash and engine looms Autofixed FMIC Nightpager screamer pipe Blitz BOV HKS actuator powerflow stainless exhaust system SPS Race coated mani FSE FPR HKS FCD Sparco's i have now fitted the rear optional lip, Carbon Bonnet and the sparco wheels with Yokohama parada tyres. 05-05-2009 Finally. So, yesterday me and my brother (Idrees) were cleaning out the garage and whilst we were at it we decided to fit my FMIC on to the car with the custom brackets etc ready for when I fit the engine and conversion parts. plans were to start in the next month or so. Anyway, got the bumper off and we both looked at each other asking if we should just whack the engine in now... And the results are below. Fmic fitting (we didn't even fit it in the end!) A messy garage which got cleaned up very fast once we got excited about the conversion! The baby FE The FTE Glanza dash loom getting in place along with steering column As it was sunday/bank holiday monday we had to work with no engine crane.. Getting there.. Two mounts on.. A list of parts/mods. Glanza engine, gearbox and driveshafts Glanza engine/dash loom Power steering conversion using Glanza steering rack and steering wheel Glanza indicator/wiper stalks, dials and heater controls Engine fully serviced Glanza radiator CT9A turbo with wastegate ported SPS mild steel manifold Nightpager decat screamer pipe HKS actuator Nology HT leads with earthing points NGK iridium plugs Autofixed fmic Powerflow exhaust system SARD rising rate fuel pressure regulator SARD fuel pressure gauge Blitz supersound bov HKS fuel cut defencer Filter relocation kit (custom) ZEP radiator cap TRD/Exedi paddle clutch Thats all i can think of, should be a nice step up from 87bhp! Filter relocation kit made. FMIC piping taking shape. Trial fit of the FMIC/bumper. Decided to cut it all out in the end. Exhaust fitted. It needs a couple of brackets welding on the front section because it doesn't perfectly match up to the NA. As it now stands: Well its had about 500 man hours put in to it, basically 3 engines, 2 clutches, wiring loom change over, gearbox removed about 4 times and now its up and running Hats off to everyone who helped me with this. who are Idrees, 2 of my cousins and a few mates. They saw how angry i was a times towards the car and they helped me to venture on and finish it right till today, and im still going as i know it was worth it. After hours of swearing, sweat and anger. The first engine had a valve stuck open. (still to be investigated). The second engine the bottom end started knocking the day after we got it started up and running, couldn't find the fault in what happened with that. It was then rebuilt, with the bottom end off the first engine and the head off of the second. We then found that the car wouldnt engage gear at idle 1st and reverse had to switch the car off just about get it in to gear then start it up. found the TRD clutch was buggered, so it was replaced with a standard one. Then came along a set of wheels Idrees bought, to spray up and sell, but i gladly took them off his hands. car went for MOT on tuesday, failed on a few little things, paid the garage to do these little bits as i felt i'd done enough hard work. and it passed. Here's a quick couple of pics, will get more soon and hopefully get the boost creep/fuel cut issue sorted and get a dyno run done before i get a hybrid. i also have a carbon rear lip to go on. (((This car is built not bought))) This engine went pop about a week and half ago, bought another engine and gearbox, had the majority of work done by my cousin as i'd had enough, still helped just not as much involved. it now runs right, with no smoke, as some of you saw it pouring out at the hudds meet. will be buffing it today and will get some more pics up with the carbon lips fitted once the bumpers have had a blowover.
  18. coming along nicely, reminds me of my old SR with the white on white.
