  1. Hey man

nice work on the paint marks, I know well how much of a bitch they are to remove.

like the speedlines and i kinda agree with the glanza lights they may suit the colour better, but no harm in being brave either.

maybe a nice simple splitter like a laguna splitter and I think that it would well sweet.

  2. Generally Speaking 4-2-1 broaden the power range and 4-1 Increase top end.

But If you get a decently made 4-2-1 with long primaries and tapered collectors then you should get the best of both worlds

    hey Rich

I understand what you mean by long primaries.......but what do you mean by tapered collectors???

sorry if this sounds stupid man.

  3. I think I'll invest in some further on down the line then, how much did they set you back?

    cheers

ste91..I believe they cost me about £250 for the full set ie; crank, alternator, powersteering and water pump pulleys.

I didnt use the alternator as the bolt hole is too big for my alternator, also the water pump on my engine has the pressed on pulley not bolt on.

this is the first time ive loked at this thread, mate your NA is tidy as fuck. i wubs it.

    thanx man it means alot,

it will look better with sum additional bits nd bobs off you :) , payment sent for those by the way

looks awesomely tidy mate top work.

thanx man, imo a tidy car is the business.

Your own car is looking sweet too, I love the silver and orange combo

  4. Nice one man!

That is one clean engine bay!

    Im up in dublin myself.

    thanx bud

its taken a while to get it nice and clean but im well happy with the results so far.

I saw in one of your threads that u were looking to get an ep i think....any luck with that?

  5. Liking the colour scheme

Did the lightweight pulleys make much difference?

    Thanx man,

the gold rims just kinda happened.

I got the idea for the matt black on laquered red after checking out nightspirits GT and loved the matt black.

yeah the lightweight pulleys do make a difference it really does rev alot more freely with them and she pulls a tiny bit harder aswell id say, plus when cruising in 4th gear the pulley's give the engine a cool whistling sound.....it's no turbo but it sounds cool to me.

  6. liking your work,

love that shaved cam cover also,

who did the work on that?

    Thanx Enzo

that coming from you means an awful lot to me.

As for the rocker cover I did all the work myself, I basically grinded down all the lines and casting marks on the edges, then applied etch primer and a couple of coats of filler primer and then colur and laquer.

I used a spare rocker cover that I got off a bug eye corolla.

  7. hey mate.

As far as i can tell there is about 3 different sizes of bulbs in the dash/ clocks in the starlet.

the clocks have the large regular bulbs ( same size as the ones in your headlamps), these are the main bulbs in the clocks

also the clocks have a slightly smaller bulbs aswell.

the cigarette lighter has the second size bulb mentioned above I believe,

the heater controls have the really really small bulbs, these things are tiny.

also the light up switch buttons have the tiny bulbs.

hope this helps in sum way.

  8. woooooooo hoooooo another 4dr........fought i was the only one!

its given me insparation to clean the engine bay up properly and post up pics/mods!

    Hey man. thanx

I dont think that there are many 4Drs alrite on here alrite.

With a little work in the engine bay they can look sweet.

  9. really love the clear headlights, wish they made em for the V like that

why did u mod that TRD mount was it to support exhuast?

Yeah Basically, I had to weld on the hangers for exhaust on to the lower engine because that is where the exhaust is supported on the N/A, After that its a straight run support wise to the backbox.

I guess that the turbo exhaust is supported in other locations.

  10. Well its been a while since I updated the tread, mainly due to the fact that I havnt done much to it lately.

    Here's what I've;

    Crystal headlights

I painted the backs of the lamps matt black to add a little more detail to them. it turned out sweet and I will post up pic's of it soon.

For now here's sum photos of the change over.

    DSC00880.jpg

You can clearly see the difference in the old and crystall headlights now, Also the crystall headlights seem to make the HID's work better, as in that the light is now projected much more evenly.

    One more for ya.

    Soild Steel Shifter Bushings

Just made these out of some 16mm diameter x1mm thick steel tube.

    DSC00892.jpg

    DSC00897.jpg

Results...The gear change is more precise and feel abit sweeter,

so for 4.50 euro how far wrong can you go

    Thats all for now

  11. That looks fresh!

    So nice n shiney

    :)

Like the black toyota on there to looks gangsta matey :p

Thanx jag, its taken alot of polishing to get toyota's 3E5 red shiney, Im finding it easy to keep the shine nowadays though with the help of AutoGlym's Aqua Wax....tastey stuff.

I decided to do the toyota black in order to keep things different, the whole polished bare metal Toyota is too common for my liking, but I do think that it is still nice.

  12. Im running a JL audio 4 channel amp for my speakers for the last 3 years and it hasnt given me any trouble ever..

as for bass im using a Vibe slick A7 digital amp, this is a really good amp imo as my old cheap amp for the bass lasted 3-4 months this has outlasted it already.

If u go for the alpine gear then u won't go far wrong, just do all the wiring right and sensible

  13. Alrite people,

Well after I attended the Irish TGTT meet in Mullngar in July (I think it was) and after having a cracking time, Im interested in organizing a meet for all those from cork and the surrounding counties.

I was thinking that the Meet could be held in September or October and sumwhere in the outskirts of Cork City.

Now im aware of sum cork people that are on only one of these 2 sites (UKSC and TGTT) so I said that I would post it on both forums in order to get all the participants possible,

If anyone is interested in this then start complying a list or add any suggestions.

    Cheers

    Nicholas

  14. Well the other day I took my throttle body off to give it a good clean, there were some nasty deposites on it and Idle was dropping to 500rpm on occasions.

Then I noticed inside the inlet manifold there was a nice pool of oil :p so I whipped that off and gave it a good clean also.

Now my question is, Is it against the law (MOT law ;) ) to have an oil catch can attached to the PCV?

hey mate I've wondered the same thing previously,

I was thinking is the cusco oil catch can a closed loop system or what.

In the photos for it on the RHDJapan site it has 2 blue connections for hoses at the top so i guess that it could be connected to the PCV with just sum extra hose .
