  1. Hmmmm,I could have sworn that had gauges before,I must be seeing things!

Yeah twas around CIT area and the South Link that I spotted it a few times.

And today aswell, you passed me at the Macroom end of the Ballincollig bypass, only saw ya at the last second, was driving my shiny red Carina, gave ya a quick salute!

ah yeah that was definitively me today.. sorry i didnt salute back, i can be very serious apparently in the car and not notice people.

  2. that sounds like a cool idea.

well not sure if can change the body on the car.i have to do my drivers test and in Ireland to do the test in your own car you have to keep the car pretty much factory standard.

o if any one knows more about car mods and the Irish drivers test please tell me about it.

    hey dude

    welcome to the site.

i did my test 2 years ao in the starlet with gold 15" rims 50mm lowered and custom door installs and i got no hassle abou the condition of the car and i passed.

  3. Hey man, recognise your car straight away from the small pic,4 door Starlet with gold rims and 3 mint gauges on the pillar yeah?

See it around Bishopstown a good bit, shes a sweet example of how to do them without going crazy!

Im not too far from Macroom myself, living in Farran, you actually passed me out the Millstreet road there few months back, was thinking to myself at the time "Jabus he gets around abit in that Starlet"!!!!!

Plans for the cars are simple enough. The red 88 boxy is stripped in the rear, few small mods for her, nothing overly major at the moment, although I may change the engine at some stage!

The beige 85 DX is staying as Mr Toyota intended, not geting a single thing done to her,it'd be a crying shame to ruin what is fast becoming a classic!

The red 99 is up for sale soon, she was used for the daily commute to and from work for months,in dry storage since last November now, must get it out and tidy it up.

With all my Starlets,I still dont drive one yet as a daily,i've the reliable Carina for that.

Yeah deffo meet up,myself and another lad are planning a Starlet meet around the middle/end of August, twould be great to get a big gang together.

ah thanx mate...... i don't have any guages on the A pillar yet but i am becoming very attracted to sum defi guages.... I used to be around CIT allot there during the college year

that could be MART that your seeing now and again in bishopstown. he's got a bloody nice ep aswell but its 2dr.

myself and GT_IRL on TGTT went to their meet in mullingar a couple of weeks ago, and he's very interested in organising a cork meet, I was thinking that we could make a dual club meet.

If u guys need any help organising a meet then u know where to find me......

  4. Hey lads and lassies, been checking out this site for a while now, only as a guest mind,so finally decided to register properly, and about time too. :)

Hope to chat to ye soon!

    hey Michael

  5. What!

    HAHAHA :)

have a gud time and don't work 2 hard, mite be sending sum business your way when your back depending on the cashflow situation.

  6. thanx mate

my goal is to make a serious starlet from the most unlikely model.... nuthing but the best for my motor.

for now she will remain a bit of a sleeper without 2much body work.

yeah the lightweight pulleys do make a difference it really does rev alot more freely with them and she pulls a tiny bit harder aswell id say,

there is no issues with the pulleys that i have fitted, but the water pump is the press fitted version on mine and i bought the bolt on one and alternater pulley are is a different shaft size on my own alternator

  8. yup. i even did designs for this last year for shows etc...a few people were interested, and then i was told there was another design..so i didnt bother...but this other design never got made...i people still want them. ill put up my design, and if you like it, ill get some prices...

throw it up mate for us to see... mite aswell get an idea for whats possible...

  9. yeah, just loosen up the bolt on the end, and then the teack rod will just spin off.

they can be stubborn... but some penetrating fluid should help you out.

if you really have trouble, you can use a torch on it, but that will ruin the unit and youll have to get another one, heating up a track rod end is an instand MOT fail.

    thanx mate

proably just a tight fooker id say.

i have new toyota units waiting to go on so that is at least an option

    cheers lads.

  10. hey everyone.

as the title says i want to know how to change the track rod thats attached to the hub.

Now i can get the track rod end off the hub thats not the problem, what i cant do is get the threaded rod from the steering rack off it.

is there a knack to getting this off or is it brute force.

im hoping to do this myself and save sum money so any help would be appreciated.

  11. They do that anyway. You just need a Red bulb for the foglight and the reverse light will be fine anyway because the reverse light lense is clear

So basically you whack em on and put a red bulb in for the foglight and your sorted.

Idrees thanx mate that makes life so much easier...well that settles it, rick put me down for a set of Reflets

  12. Rick im interested in a set of Reflets

    ALSO question to everyone here;

Is there a way to wire up the Reflet lights in such a way to have reverse and fog with out having seperate fog and reverse lights.

I think that it would really help attract business from N/A drivers if a guide was put together for the above option.

  13. Idrees, post it here too for markoos to see, even if its copy and paste

dont worry mate i will write it up properly when i get it off during the weekend....

here's what Idrees had to say earlier..

"Remove the wiper motor to access the two nuts on the inside of the tailgate, then there are 4 clips. One on each corner, just pull it off after removing the nuts. Worked for me."

  14. We will be fitting complete new doors so no need for drilling

hey idrees if its glanza doors your using then ya ull be fine.

but did your starlet come with electricsof some sort in the doors originally if not then u will still need to drill the pillar.

  15. Yep all the wires are tucked under the carpet or under that bit of plastic next to the footwell. It's a white or blue plug if i remember correctly. Just whack the doors on and plug them in. :D

    Bourkey

    "Idrees

    Thanks (from Tayyib)

    Where do the regulators go?

that is correct about the wiring the piece of the loom that u need is only going from the door to just inside the footwell.

as for the electric regulators these replace the "keep fit ones" is just a matter of undo the manual regulators and then replace with elec regulators.

also i forgot to mention that u will have to drill the doors and pillars in order to fit the wiring and fit a set of those flexi tubes that u see in other cars, its more awkward then difficult but it will allow u to fit all sorts of electrics in the doors afterwards eg speakers, central locking.
