  1. If it makes any difference, the diff is a cusco unit and will be used for mainly fast road with the odd track day.
  2. Hi guys. Just in the process of swapping my engine and gearbox and was wondering what's the best oil to use for gearbox/lsd? I'm assuming the diff uses different oil to what the gearbox takes. What does everybody else use/recommend?
  3. If you're still looking for tyres then I can't recommend hancook ventus v12s enough. Those things are immense.
  4. A few people I know run their motors with the cams from a n/a engine. It gives them more low-mid power and really brings them alive. That might be worth a shot for you.
  5. The engine is a TD unit apparently either of the oils above are fine. Thanks
  6. I'm going to be doing an engine swap in the coming weeks and I'm just getting together the final bits for the job. Which grade oil is best for mainly road use but with the potential track day every so often. It's a fully forged 4efte which will be tuned to make around 220bhp. Am I better off with fully or semi synthetic oil? Also 5/30, 10/40 etc...these all mean nothing to me. What is recommended and what are you all using? Thanks
  7. Jazz a is meant to be Jezza...effing auto correct!
  8. I ordered a set of poly mounts for engine and gear box. On Friday evening and they were sat at home waiting for me on Monday evening when I got home from work. Excellent service and jazz a is a pleasure to deal with. The mounts look sturdy as well and can't wait to fit them. Would recommend the company to everyone and will definitely be using again for other parts.
  9. I'm running a cusco lad on my v and although it makes some soise while using on the road, overall it's an effective bit of kit when you fancy doing some enthusiastic driving. Best mod I've done by far.
  10. Gearbox whines anyway with cusco diff. Its going to be a noisy harsh slug house when ive finished 🙈
  11. Fuck it...race car. Polys all round it is. If i dont like it then just buy softer ones 👍
  12. Away makes sense. So what's the difference in feel between a 70 and 65 realistically? Also, what's the price of the JD tuning ones? Are they even in production?
  13. 50shore? Means nothing to me...explain please.
  14. My main concern is that the car is already really firm and rattles like crazy with standard tired mounts. I've just recently discovered JD tuning are developing some softer poly mounts.
  15. This is what I've been recommended. Just polybush the rear and leave the front as they are.
  16. This is what I was going to do, but I've been told by a few that it will be an absolute pic of a ride. Most are recommending to just do the gearbox mounts. Have you changed yours?
  17. Morning guys. I'm not sure if this in the right place or if there is a topic already that could help me but...in the next few weeks I will be swapping out my blown engine and fitting a nice shiny forged engine in its place. At the same time I was thinking on changing the mounts to the poly bush type. Now here's my problem...which mounts do I want to change? I was going to do engine and gearbox mounts but I've been told that it will be too harsh and rattle the car to bits, other people say it's fine. Then I've also been told just doing gear box mounts tightens everything up but doesn't rattle
  18. Where u from pal? What are the tyres like? Would be good as a set of winter wheels. Oops just seen essex haha
  19. Any car with any power will always benefit from a LSD. They completely change that characteristics of the car. I'm running around the 220 mark with a cusco diff. Best thing I've ever bought.
  20. I have a set of big end rodders...didnt realise they were so rare.
  21. theres a few different places and peoples names. The majority of these being in Tommy Bryants name if anybody knows him...
  22. Just thought I'd leave abit of feed back about my purchase from Sacha at WEPR. I received my goods on tuesday and the quality of the craftsmanship is absolutely top notch. It looks indestructable and cant wait to get it fit on my car. The only downside (if you can call it that) is that I had to wait quite a while for my kit. But each one is hand made to order so I was expecting this. Was definitely worth it though and Sacha kept me updated all the way through. Weather your buying or just asking for advice, the help and options I received were priceless and I will be recommending him to everybo
  23. Look at the link. Theres some pics in there. Still looks like this.
