My Dad made the sub frames from scratch. He's an Engineer you see, he loves that sort of stuff. He ground the feet off the standard seats and bolted them back onto the floor of the car, then used rolled steel bar to make all of the supportive bars between the feet and bolted the seats straight to the bar. Anyway back to "anti stonechip" lacquer. There is such a thing, BMW and Mercedes use it on their cars, its like rock to the touch and when polishing like HS lacquer (high solid) but has a slightly rubbery texture, thus causing stones to "bounce off" and preventing them from chipping it so easily. Talking of BMWs, last night took the old man to the local garage to pick up the GTO, had a new fuel pump to sort out its cough. I followed him in my clio (god i wished i was in the Glanza) while he "tested it". Just so happens a '57 reg 3 series of some description undertook me then crossed in front and overtook the old man. How, very dare he. Saw a little puff of smoke and then there was a loud "BBBBBBBRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOPPPPPPPPPPPP------TISSSHHHH" and the GTO was gone. Nuff said. Alex.

Well, I guess you get what you pay for as far as seats go (although my dad has had the same in red for a year and had no trouble with them), the drivers seat is starting to hurt my back and my hips, not a good thing at 17! So Ive got a pair of blue Corbeau Targas on order, 300 for the pair brand new, not bad methinks. Hope you like Alex.
