  1. Hey

I'm after the drivers side stock bottom rad mount (the one that bolts on rather than welded on)

Also need the thermostat housing for a glanza please!

Also looking for the screws the keep the plastic surround around the steering column together and in place

Let me know of you can help

    Thanks

  2. what do you do to your coilovers to keep them in tip top condition?

Is there anything you can put on to the threads to stop grit and dirt getting in there and seizing them up ?

I mean you could clean them but its a bit of hassle having to take the wheels off all the time to give them a scrub ect so wanted to know if there is like a grease I could put on them to protect them.

Meister do and anti rust chemical but i do not see this doing anything for protecting the threads.

    Thanks

  3. Im very tempted by this for a GT, do we have any starlet owners running one yet? Id like to hear feedback.

And apart from the case none of the OEM ECU is required? Reason being the mapper i will be using will not touch piggybacks just standalones.

no one has one yet, all the people running them on mx-5's rate them though.

Yes all you need to do is take out the stock ecu from its case and put in the me221 and the factory connectors plug right in

  4. Item For Sale: Dastek Unichip Version Q Piggy back ECU

    Item Condition & Description:

Perfect working order, was fitted by Redline tuning in Basildon on 27th July 2016 and came off the car 16th November 2016, has been sitting in a box in my room since. (still have paperwork from when it was fitted as proof of how old it is and also from 23/09/2016 when the car was remapped)

Selling due to going standalone now, otherwise I would have kept it as its one of the better piggybacks out there!!!!

This was fitted to my car along with a boost solenoid and switch for hi/lo map switching so if you have a boost solenoid the wiring is already there for you to do this.

    Any questions please ask.

  5. Both great I would say, rich at redline has mapped a lot of starlets including amjad and bussy's and the unichip is better than an e manage in my eyes.

I have a unichip for sale at the min as I'm going stand alone now, if interested give me an inbox

  6. Indeed, the boards are being produced as we speak. Then, when they're done, Matt can get cracking on the final version of the map while I continue to implement new features in the MEITE (our PC tuning application). Currently working on a trigger logger that will help a lot when running home-brew wiring looms or sensors. Not so much of a problem with PnPs though.

    Alex

Cheers Alex, when do you expect the pcb's to be with Matt?

  7. I don't think they can give out a map as the final one hasn't been completed as of yet? Matt hasn't got the pcb's so I would say he is waiting to get them before he does the final bits and bobs on the map to make sure everything is running right.

I have just been playing around with the turbo mx5 maps to get a feel for things

  8. Hi,

Really interested in the product but not to sure on some of the features and how it works.

Put in idiot terms, ive got from reading through that this is a standalone ecu. Plug and play in the sense that there is no additional wiring needed?

Also can this be mapped by anyone or only you and will it come with a map on it so i could drive the car to get mapped once plugging in or do i need to still load a base map myself?

Sorry if these questions have already been answered but i have found it a little hard to find the answers just by reading through the thread.

    Thanks in advance.

So to sum this ecu up for you,

It's a stand alone ECU that replaces the factory unit.

You install it in to the factory case (take old circuit board out and put this one in)

It will come with a bace map when supplied to you so you just plug it in turn the key and it will stat the can and you can drive on this map untill you go get it professionally tuned.

BUT Motorsport electronics DO recommend that you make sure the correct map is loaded for your car and you can do this by plugging it in to a laptop and downloading the map the is best suited to your car.

ANYONE can tune this ecu as the tuning software (MEITE) is available to everyone.

if you need help understanding how to install the ecu or how to plug the lap top in or how to download maps ect I highly recommend you go to motorsport electronics youtube chanel and watch there vids, they will tell you everything (yes I know it's on an mx-5 but the principles the same)

    Hope this helped you out

  9. Put me down for the EP 91 please.

    Thanks.

PS - I believe this still will work like the standard ecu , when removing the Hi / low function and abs etc right?

Abs is not controlled by ecu so that's not affected, and if you have removed the factory hi/lo boost then it will be the same as stock ecu yes where it doesn't work, I presume you could also plug in the ecu to a laptop and remove this setting to be 100% sure it's not active

  10. Matt at ME has my glanza for testing as well as another guys GTT. He has been keeping us up to date on Facebook with what's going on, progress ect.

This ECU is a fully stand alone fully programmable computer that fits inside the factory case and plugs in to the factory wiring harness, so to install this all you need to do is unplug the ecu in the car, take it apart put the old circuit board to one side for if you ever want to go back to stock and then put in the ME221 computer, put it all back together and the install is complete.

Maps will be available to download from there website (pick one that suits your car best) download it to the ecu from your laptop and you're done. Car will star and run like normal but with probably a bit more power.

As these are just " generic" maps it's best to see a professional tuner and get it mapped to suit your car.

Any good tuner will be able to map these due to the software being available to everyone.

I thing these are going to be one of the best things to happen to the starlets, and will probably get rid of all the piggyback ecu's out there.

Keep up the great work matt and everyone at ME
