It can be run in an engine hotter if that's what you mean yes, because it doesn't boil till 180 C it's pretty safe as an engine shouldn't be getting anywhere close to that temp, where as water boils at 100 so anything hotter than that creates a lot of pressure.I'm more worries about how my engine is running at these temperatures, rather than something braking or becoming dangerous
-
100 seems pretty high to me, mine kicks in at a bit over mid point but only stays on for say 30 seconds or so regardless of if it drops back down to mid point or not, I end up just opening the windows and turning on the heater or turning the Car off if sitting at lights, once I start moving it starts to drop to mid point

Cool will probably stick with a standard stat then. I'm running Evans waterless coolant, boiling point of 180 C and has no pressure due to it not expanding (or very little)
-
Would a normal thermostat be fine or would it be best to go with a low temp one? Of so where can I get one I know TD do them but they are a bit pricey, have read a stat from another car fits and is at a lower temp ?
-
That's what I was thinking, may upgrade to a low temperature one as see if that helps

Hi everyone. My glanza always overheats in traffic, I have an id-workz triple core half rad and waterless coolant. Driving around is fine but as soon as I am sitting for a few minutes the Temps go up, the fan doesn't seem to kick in till quite late so was wondering what I could do. Any help would be great. Thanks

Yes the 2nd link (I think anyway, from what I can see) Would like a new part though really

Notices I was leaking coolant from the elbow at the back of the engine today, looks like it would be a pig of a job replacing and also can't fined any new ones to replace with, anyone done this job ? And where is the best place to get the hose Thanks

The unichip does look like a good ecu if your not looking to go standalone only downside is not a lot of people map them
-
I'm looking for the same and have been looking at redline, they seem pretty good and know starlets well they will probably put it on a unichip supplied fitted and mapped for just under 700
-
Haven't really seen people who put in twin pots also upgrade the master but will look in to it, thanks guys

Yes was hoping that a full bleed of the system would do a lot, but didn't know if that was the only problem and didn't want to make it worse with bigger brakes
-
Okay so should make a small difference, maybe some braided lines could help as well
-
Okay so we all know the stock glanza brakes are rubbish all round so I'm upgrading to 260mm twin pots. Will doing this also improve brake feel as when I press the pedal now it has a lot of travel in it before it does anything. Going to be bleeding the full system as well and adjust the pedal as best I can so I hope it will feel like a more modern car. What are your experience with getting bigger brakes. Thanks

-
Hummm just have to wait till russ gets back to me then I think, really need new set up as the stock brakes are shocking
-
See when I was talking to russ he said the astra discs don't need any work to fit the gt4 twin pots, it's all bolt on just need a spigot ring
-
Yer he is a great guy but think he has a lot on right now as hasn't replied to me, really wanted his 260mm kit and need it asap
-
