I used to work for Lexus which is how I got into starlet's. Just got my recall letter through. Looking forward to my free courtesy wash and replacement airbag. See if they notice any of my more subtle mods.
As I understand it was first found on the sc430 (on lexus cars anyway) Obviously both car manufacturers and probably the airbag inflator manufacturer wants to minimise the recall.
Maybe a year after that it was discovered these inflators were fitted to ct200h and is300h.
To hear that it goes back as far as my 23 year old £300 shed is crazy. The cost must be astronomical. Probably costs twice that in parts, logistics, labour and admin.
Surely takata must have been put out of business by now? Anyone know if they're still trading?
Yea its going to cost Toyota a brave few quid for sure, like the gen 7 celica engine recalls for oil burning, a mate bought a 7 2nd hand then got a letter a few weeks later to return the car to the nearest Toyota dealership for a replacement engine
im hoping they recall the GT for rust lmfao......

Does anyone know if a glanza header/expansion tank fits a GT? I want to get rid of the massive hose going along the slam panel and have seen some GTs with the header over by the battery but can’t find a thread on it
As far as I've seen they are a straight enough fit

Id guess 150/200 with the starlet parts tax Sam

Nuts4wheels website has all the flavours bought 2 sets myself over the years and they are great quality, go for Tuner nuts with the internal spline

Interesting this, I read about the dodgy airbags must be a year or so ago now.
My GT has none but my 01 Yaris and 04 Caldina do so I will be onto Toyota 1st thing Monday morning!!

I have the same radiator bracket kit and came with no rubbers(2nd hand but new)either, I used the rubber spacers with the steel sleeve from the factory intercooler mounts with no sleeve, absolutely perfect fit

Set sat here for the Dina when I get the time to look into it
A mate here runs them on his glanza, 16" wheels and 27mm spacers come to mind, lot off messing but can be done.

corsa c sxi discs are the correct ones in the UK. Some advertise them as 256mm while the same are 260mm in the Netherlands which is kinda strange.
This
plus upgraded Vauxhall discs are cheap as chips bud

2 sets lying in the shed Sam lol, 1 set fully rebuilt ready to fit.
Will be good to actually finally nail down what works, I tried to decipher the information on here but my brain started to hurt reading it 😫

Forgot to say you will need a centre bore spigot ring made up, I've seen celica conversions where the studs where shimmed at the holes on the disc hmm
