Glanza Weird Problem, Stutering Help!
200sx-Starlet-Jay replied to 200sx-Starlet-Jay's topic in Ignition & Fueling
hmm, he said he had this problem on his old engine, but it just cleared its self up.. yeah ive told him to get the car on a mates dyno and get its fueling checked. i reckon it will be that or water in plugs, cuz he pressure washed the front end before mfn lol.. FCD, he turned it rite down to off so it was reading the ecu instead and still poping nd banging like mad and as for the fuel, i thought that would be a long shot, but after finding nothing it was worth a try! plus he needed fuel so... cheers guys Jay -
Glanza Weird Problem, Stutering Help!
200sx-Starlet-Jay replied to 200sx-Starlet-Jay's topic in Ignition & Fueling
yeah thats whats planned i think, anyone else? -
My mates 96 glanza created itself a little problem yesterday. We went to MFN, parked up and all was fine, within this period of time somthing happened and ever since its been problematic. Basicaly the car stuters, and like pops and bogs down when its under boost. its ok lower down in boost, but under full throttle and anything over sort of 10 psi it just pops and bangs. so we swapped the plugs over, checked dizzy arm etc, done a compression test (all just over 150), swapped actuator, turbo unit and all gaskets as the actuator felt abit rare and stuck abit, messed about with his fcd, checked for boost leaks... went out to try it, and for 1 run it sounded ok, then the 2nd confirmed our efforts had done sweet fuck all. personaly i think its down to fueling, its not a strong enough bang to be fuel cut, and its not boosting high enough to cause it.. so maybe running to rich or way too lean??? however its got some fueling mods so should have enough... mods list: 36K Engine/fuel rail/injectors swapped about 500miles ago decat pipe aftermarket cat back exhaust walbro 255lph pump symtec fuel pressure regulator turbosmart FCD HDI FMIC induction kit blanked off bov he reckons he has had some dodgy fuel from the same garage a few months back so his tank is empty and guna try some vpower instead of the bp stuff. any help anyone????

Thinking Of Getting A N/a Supra... What You Think?
200sx-Starlet-Jay replied to iamlegend's topic in Lifestyle General
i was lookin at supras for about 2 years so know them pretty well. first off, the NA is realy slow. my vr6 absolutly anhialated one before. they are shite on fuel, and feel very very asmatic. standard power they are 220 bhp, and being NA u wont get a lot out of it. they are also over 1 1/2 tonnes to not exactly slim and athletic! the turbo'd version is about twice the price for a nice example, and u will probs be lookin the same for insurance so im asuming that they are out your budget. somthing else to think about is the price of autos.. they are a lot cheaper than the manuals normal. reason manuals make so much of a difference in price is that 24 out of 25 supras were made automatic as it is a luxury grand tourer. Being a GT tho means it is uber comfy, everything is postioned for you, interiors (although dull) are realy nice and user friendly, and it will be quiet and refined to drive. this does have an effect on handling, u fill find it to roll like a right bastard in the corners. If ure after the whole luxury sort of thing with them, maybe look at the aero top. these are all NA standard trim, unless converted as far as im aware. so the one in the fast and furious was rolling on NA power lol. these are a bit more special as it makes sumer driving better, also not seen around as much as other supras. But on the whole the supra looks like an awsome car, and doesnt take much for it to be transformed into a peice of JDM art lol, but i think the running costs and lack of grunt in the NA spec compared to your gt, u will be much better off geting somthing smaller turbo'd ie 200sx (shamefull plug i know ) as they are about the same to run, come in out, available in touring trim, and not stupid money to insure one. bang for buck it will be better ;) Just my 2p, hope this helps lol. any more questions let me know, my knowledge is quite extensive on them haha, so many hours spent looking them up! ure probs feeling the same way i was, and addicted to lookin at them! -

sound lads!! @ dean, if u get an s13, get a low mileage one, or one with an sr20det, otherwise u wnt be getting into the sport cheap. if ure looking for cheap rwd thrills, stick with an NA like a beemer. s13s have choclate bottom ends, all the cheap ones have high miles, and fail mot on there rusty sills. for what u will be paying in repair bills, u may as well buy somthing cheap and spend that money on tyres and basic mods @love, nice one mate.. decided if ure breakin yet lol? -

lol errrrm dont think that will be happening tbh! yeah its not bad mate, certainatly fits in with my plans for it better! few things to do over the next few weeks: - Receive the free alloys - Spray them/Powder coat them black then fit them - fit the dash out of my white NA into the blue one - fit the dual gauge A pillar pod holder with rev gauge and voltmetre - fit the centre console section and relocate headunit back to original position - Shorten the gear stick ( way too high with current knob ) - full valet inside and out - Finish engine bay detailing off - oil filter change and some new oil - look at finishing the custom induction kit so got my work cut out with this car let alone mine lol!
