  1. Can you send me a link to your build Jayc cant seem to find it
  2. I know that's how my cousin got it long before I did. the paint job is shockingly bad too If you cant see it why paint it attitude The bonnet paint is cracked beyond repair and the paint shop say they cant colour match it to the yellow. The red maybe but for the track is it worth it is the big question? First handling mods ordered and a few hoses watch this space next week don't expect pretty though
  3. LOL 9 months in 1 update and no photos to reference not surprised. I figured the photos out now so will be easier. She is never going to be a show car unless I win the lottery.
  4. Has anyone ever made it through the whole catalogue? Is there any 1 person that knows what everything in it does! Yes I have got a bit of time on my hands at work before you ask
  5. Jellybaby pointed out I screwed up posting the pics so here they are. Where I first seen it The next photo of it The engine as I got it After it almost killed me closer inspection That's not a power steering bracket and I haven't seen one of those in a car before! thanks to BMX-RIG this was much easier to find than I thought it would be. What needed doing to it after getting it checked over maybe I should have done this before driving it The offside Front window motor is still screwed but who's going to open it its a security measure Oh
  6. Jelly I just read through your build all the highs and lows and wow that's a hell of a build mate. I will definitely come up for a visit sometime cause believe it or not I have never seen a V in the flesh apart from mine, and mine ain't the prettiest (still smells of Sushi I think). It would be an education for me I wont be able to bring mine up yet because well its not registered yet. I will PM you my details. Stay strong my plan for mine is time attack too was going to target the entry level clubman events. JayC we all love the A12 at least you dont have the A14 sticking it
  7. I will definitely give you a shout Jellybaby because I am absolutely fucking clueless
  8. Share the secret I lost my profile pic but on some of the worst internet available
  9. Thanks Nick I usually only get about a weeks notice on anything nature of my Job in Summer.
  10. It says there is a potential closing date any idea when that may be couldn't see it in the FAQ? Wont know till maybe 2 days before event. Car unlikely to be ready but would be great to come for the day.
  11. Well some of you have helped me already and its really appreciated and I hope you can help in the future. Brief intro into and progress so far. I accidentally own a starlet, I never intended to buy it had never driven it and had never even seen it move this is where I first spotted it in my cousins lock-up. Basically my cousin blew the engine on My van and he owed me a few quid as well. So August/September last year while I am working away somewhere, I forget where we agreed he would give me the Starlet and the Navara for the money he owed me and I would buy a trai
  12. Hi thanks for the offer I have fixed the steering now
  13. Just realized this should be in the Glanza thread think I started this after a beer oops Can a Mod move it please
  14. Ok this stalled completely keep having to go away for Work, Progress so far, Power steering all done (it steers) Brake Fluid Done (it Stops) MOT (damn the Japanese with only fog in front of them). TMIC Off FMIC On (BMX RIG wants the old one) maybe for sale soon if he doesn't want it Timing belt and Tensioners done Photos to follow when I get on to a proper internet connection The next things to do. First the Bonnet, has anyone got any idea where I can find a good bonnet supplier for a Glanza V mine is ropey? The best Roll Cage Supplier I have some
  15. Quick question I have found online all the basic bits I need apart from one important bit. Any ideas where I can find a power steering pump tensioner bracket?
  16. Ok today I got the results of my assessment on my find and it’s good. this is my first post and now working forward thanks to motor guru in Ipswich who really were amazing today. will start posting pics tomorrow glad it wasn’t taken on a track though
  17. Thanks for the tip Colin, given what you mentioned after checking the car I think I am really lucky. 3 points of rust on the car no bigger than stone chips on the door pillars. And a bit of rust on the exhaust manifold hooks near the rubbers. this is luck more than judgement as I got the car without even looking at it need to get it on a ramp to really check it out but looks good thanks for the tip glad I looked.
  18. Thanks rust is not too bad from what I have seen so far but need a much closer look on a ramp really will find out more on 7th When I get it up and a full detailed check done not really decided on the turbo it does not really sound suitable from what you said. May stick it on eBay
  19. Another quick question are there any weaknesses on a starlet I should look out for
  20. Thanks spoonal will do build and info should start after December 7th when I get it all checked out. Will start a build thread then. I got the TD05 turbo today as an option still researching things so may never use it.
  21. Thanks I am doing research as I go this is my first project. so anyone know anybody that wants a td05 turbo. Just kidding will use it to learn about reconditioning etc £32 for practice I think is not bad. i have so much to learn it’s best for me to learn it slowly rather than rinsing loads on new kit and screwing it up. Thanks for the advice again
  22. Thanks for the advice. Just to clarify. So essentially I have a standard engine, turbo and ecu and an intercooler sort of balancing on top. If this is the case that's all good its makes it a blank canvas and I can start making it do what I want not what someone else did. I will try that with the Pics If I don't need it yes Maddox I am still learning here and becoming a youtube specialist Thanks for the advice everyone
  23. Thanks Skiny but I may have a few issues for a quick cringe and the thought of an empty wallet and for the photos requested hit the link below https://imgur.com/a/v8B3x Looks like a standard ecu intercooloer is only attached to the hoses there is a sort of tension bolt holding 2 parts of the engine together I think to add tension to one of the belts its running about 0.7bar through the turbo I think my little find could get pricey on an up note picked up a TD05 turbo for £32 as a punt and got a TD04 due to come out of my mates Scooby soon when he upgrades his
  24. Lovely little motor yours is a lot tidier than mine :)
