  1. nope cars still not sorted :angry: but when i removed the 15a efi fuse which is just a normal fuse not the black box thing my engine management light went off so what does that 15a fuse actually control?
  2. so what is the small 15a efi fuse? i need to know this desperatly lol as it may source some of my problems
  3. is that the 15a one or the big black one that also says efi on the cover?
  4. ill go hunting tomorrow for any sensors and try and check the timing.. im a timing virgin though lol

  6. as far as im aware the car hasnt used any coolant at all the sypmtoms of my car are... when i set off in 1st the car juddered like a kangaroo for about 5-10seconds then it went next day the car would not start when it does it seems to be missfiring somewhat and will only run with my foot on the gas pedal at 500rpm, it will not rev at all managed to get the car warmed up a little today by leaving the car running and putting a brick on the accelerator then it rev'd up every now and again to about 5000rpm then after let it either died or was very close to it, it was spitting out black little

  8. well carrying on from http://www.ukstarletclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=9241 i did a compression test first off tried it with the plugs out and the engine was stone cold got 1)123 2)115 3)110 4)120 then got the car started for 20seconds at tops and with the spark plugs in i got 1)130 2)130 3)130 4)140 then managed to get the car upto running tempreture and it came out as 1)138 2)138 3)138 4)144 when i manged to get the car somewhat warmed up the car then began to "rev" as in if you kept the foot on the gas it would gradually rev to like 5k then after dropping down removing my foot

  11. this is how the car came, I've wired it all up now instead of bare wires being shown but in theory it shouldnt really matter if the ground and power is spliced or not should it?

Right got the fuel filter off this morning, turnd it over on the ignition while the fuel filter was off and petrol gushed out so the fuel pump is ok so put that fuel filter on and pritty much the same thing just ticked over didnt seem like it was going to start, the engine is just flooding itself you can smell petrol straight away more or less, there is no petrol leaks anyway im pritty sure of it the only thing now is the injectors but to be honest i dont have a clue what im doing there and how to clean them etc... I've take a picture of the sard rrfpr and does everything seem ok on
  13. right i have disconnected the injectors today and took the ht lead out with the spark plug and tested it on a head bolt and all of them sparked so does that rule out the coil pack,leads,spark plugs,distributor and rotor arm? also took the injectors out and they all seem ok so im guessing if its not that im likely to be looking at a fuel problem, tried getting the fuel filter off managed to get the top bolt off but i cant get the bottom one off it seems to me that it has ground down and i cant get a spanner on it im going to try that then probably wake my way from the fuel pump upto the i
  14. i have a wiaring diagram and I've just tried it like that and it doesnt make any difference it just sounds like the fuel pump is doing something...
  15. could anyone verify that this is the right way to wire it up i know the black and brown is not connected right any help would be greatly appreciated as im going to solder it as soon as i know
  16. well it is already in the car was looking at the ecu this morning and nocked some of the wires, tried reading the jap instructions but im not japanese anyway does the black wire connect to the brown one thats been cut in two?does it connect to both ends or just the bit from the ecu? also the red wire does that connect to the yellow and black wire from the ecu or both ends the reason im asking is im going to solder them this afternoon so i dont really want to get them wrong. help would be much appreciated
  17. ah well lol worth a try a little bit far for you too travel just for that, well im hoping to rule out the dizzy,coil pack and ht leads and spark plugs for definate tomorrow so ill keep you updated on how it goes

  19. i tried resetting the ecu by removing the efi and it didnt make a difference going to try the fuel filter and replace the king lead other than that im just guna try and get the car into jap tech ;)
  20. yeah spoke to si, he said check the fcd,ecu and rrfpr not much luck, just a quiery though does the black wire connect together with another 2 wires if i remember a brown one sliced in two? after tomorrow I've more or less ruled out the ignition side of things, next guna check the fuel and just generally see if theres any loose wires hopefully i havnt done any damage trying to start the car a fair few times, i have a fuel filter which i got with the car it looks new but it was a pain in the ass tryna get the one in the car off so ill try that again tomorrow too
