  1. edit: misread the post, noticed the budget.. free stuff(ish): T-cut,polish,paint touch ups then whatever your heart desires! Mitch
  2. Im really sorry that this has happened but at LEAST you got the car back. i know its a shit possition to be in, but just think it could of been a whole lot worse; 1) not got the car back 2) had that machette in your face... I hope they find the f*ckers and that you get the car back to normal again soon. Mitch
  3. Ok, so off we go again; first of all some snow My freshly coated wheels a random.. The pink/red one is now high again..minus the brace I found a lil treat, needs polishing though Leads/cover(i know its dirty) Other things are ive fitted the clear indicators (broke a clip because im clever) and fitted my HID's. This cars going to infinity and beyond haa Watch this space... Mitch.
  4. Have you seen this car in the flesh? It isnt as mint as everyone has made it out to be, bonnet has a dent, and theres 3 bad ones on the right hand side and numerous trolly dings. But overall a real genuine car! and im so happy with it.
  5. haha! sweet. I like your car dude, its pretty much exactly what mine is going to look like! i had plans of the black and green theme... then looked at your thread! i was like damn... already been done. ah well. Mitch
  6. whats wrong with the chalk bonnet? And no im not putting it on. I havent got tyres for the rims yet, ive yet to take the springs/shocks off.amongst other things Mitch
  7. me too! fitted my hid's,rocker cover and ht leads today woo! mitch
  8. it is clean apart from three dents and a scuff. but im planning on getting that sorted. what sort of work did you do? Pics soon Mitch
  9. Cheers! Right, the red starbo project is now over and i have a new one! Raywong's starbo so im in the middle of swapping all my bits and bobs over. The red one still runs etc but is just drinking oil, so it will be up for sale shortly> LOADS TO COME... Mitch

  11. So, i put in some morrisons value 15-50 oil.... and it runs aot better. I think its cause of the oils viscocity was just thin enough that the oil passing the rings was screweing up the air/fuel mix, but now its thicker its running smoother... hasnt solved the problem but has made it easier to live with. Oh and Dean-jdm-ep, i spotted your car today! i walked through a car park and was like... WTF! i was with my dad at the time, he liked where you put your sub... i was busy mooching around the fmic like ..mmmmmm whats with the steelie! haha
  12. Oh dear, thanks for that. But can anyone else confirm this? although im sure your right dude, but i might be missing out on an engine. Oh and how come it wouldnt be compatible with the ecu/loom?
  13. cheers mate, i think it must be the rings then, as it is drinking it... the maximum the car can be off the road is a weekend and i NEED transport. The FTE would take longer than tht i think and i plan on buying a FTE and rebuilding with forged internals myself then taking a week or so off work to fit it but i was planning to do that in around 5 months... im either going to; a) try keep it running till i FTE it. b)or exchange for another 4efe-then FTE it in 5 months i found this; http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TOYOTA-COROLLA-STARL...%3A1|240%3A1318 but it looks like a different gen? the zuast gua
  14. i want to do either of those.. but both options illegal..
  15. indeed, i have a few options.... a)try and make the engine survive and make do with crap performance for 5 months...(till i can get insured with a 4efte in it) b)find a 4efe and swap it c)find a 5efe and swap it d)drop a 4efte in it now I really dont know what to do
  16. thats a good point! can you run off the same loom and ECU? Its smoking bad now, flushed and replaced the oil today.
  17. Thanks for the replys. Doesnt sound good then, like you said, the only way to find out is to open it up, i think thats what im going to be doing this w/e. this is a pain in the arse really, becuase if it is the rings, i was planning on doing the 4efte swap in 5 months when my current insurance policy ends. I dont want to put the money in to swapping it for a 4efe or spending money rebuilding now. Im not keen on the idea of doing the swap for a 4efte now and hope i dont get caught.... not wise i know. or hope for the best and it is the valve stem seals or somthing else. cheers lads, il tr
  18. i think the acceleration is due to ignition problems (thanks to the other guys on here), my dizzy cap is a bit knackered and the rotor arm. Ive only had the car on the road for a few weeks so i hadnt really noticed it untill i checked my oil.... and now its obvious. So long as it isnt the piston rings (which i need help trying to find out) il be happy
  19. A follow up of my lumpy acceleration thread.. still accelerating lumpy but its burning oil... bigtime! basicly, when i open the throttle up the whole way the car shoots off like a rocket (somtimes after a splutter/pause) but if i slowly accelerate and slowly bring the revs round the car stutters and hesitates the whole rev range... and unless i open the throttle the whole way... and the cars performance doesnt change whether its warm or cold (obvz i dont rag it when its cold). I hope to do a compression test soon (to see if the rings are ok?) The only other thing i can think of is the val
  20. im the same dont worry. whenever im on a computer, i go straight onto uksc.com....
  21. Sorry to interupt, but the clutch mounts the flywheel and the friction plates are compressed onto the flywheel giving drive? is that right? Mitch
  22. I have rs*r springs and kyb sr specials. the dampers are stiff so you can feel the road. Bit of body roll but that could be down to the biscuits im rolling on at the moment with massive tyre walls. thumbs up from me,although it is the ONLY set ive had, so i have nothing to compare it by. check my project thread for pics.
  23. rubix: oh is it? i thought it was jdm. either way, nice as foook! and yeh i laughed when i saw the plugs hahaha, replaced them today, already ironed out some of the lumpy acceleration, so im definatly on the right track with the problems being 'ignition caused'. As for the rolla mani, i think im going to rebuild the the head with new valve stem seals, and while im at it, fit the rolla mani + alu pipe and filter. its really drinking oil, Is there any way of know whwther its the rings or the stem seals that need replacing? or would there just be sod all power due to the rings leaking. Mitch
  24. haha, the whole things pink. needs a good t-cut
  25. it is as you described mate and is probably the same problem. i have a load of pics concerning the ignition. cyl 1 cyl 2 cyl 3 cyl 4 and dizzy cap(not in cylinder order) 1 2 3 4 and notice the white corroded clumps that have come off the points. and the rotor arm Cyl 2 and 4 look fouled and over fueled where as 3 looks lean and one looks ok! what do you guys make of this? Mitch
