the belt stops driving the alternator which means no charge to the battery, and the water pump isn't being driven so the coolant isn't pumped through the engine and through the radiator so its not dissipating heat, and your engine overheats i'm amazed you got it started after the batt light came on, and without an alternator im amazed you got home - you have since edited your question out...

if its not the fuse you should test the thermostat. take it out, tie it to a bit of string and submerge is in boiling water. lift it out and check to see if it has opened. if it has its fine, if its still closed you need to replace it

starlets on stock wheels are asking for trouble... i spun mine out at not very high speeds twice. but i wouldn't say it felt like a dangerous car. to be honest i would take a starlet (of any variety, turbo or na) over ANY french car any time. as for car maintenance, bourkey and galliano will back me up when i say my car is always lovely and clean aiming to change oil and filter every 6k miles, spark plugs probly every 12.

that would be great, but lets face it, how many people on this site could weld a flange onto the oem exhaust, which is gonna add further cost to this. the easiest option is to make one that just bolts on, that way the owner can just swap back to standard when they need to just my 2p

on my car i have a jap decal and JAE sticker on the rear under the lights, OPIE OILS on the airbox and an AOC logo on the front crossmember. subtle grapics work... but o.t.t full car wraps look silly
