  1. If you don't want to touch the engine then the next thing I'd suggest is getting rid of some weight.

    major exterior parts:

    carbon fibre hood

get rid of any unnecessary body parts (such as the spoiler)

    lightweight alloy wheels

    internal stripout:

    seats

    carpets

    door panels

    spare wheel & tools

    the list goes on...

you wont actually get anymore BHP but you will benefit in both performance and economy with the reduced weight

although I do think you should consider getting a manual gearbox

  2. I will do once I've got some more money :p

Oh and you live in Manchester? That's where I picked it up from ;)

terrible traffic on the way up there, terrible weather on the way back

once we got back onto the dual carriageways it was fun though, my dad was really giving it some beans, couldn't on the motorway because of really bad crosswinds

really impressed by the performance though, it pulls really well, very good for a 1.3

about the corolla mani - what year rolla are they from? and how much do they usually go for?

  3. And I'm very impressed. :p

My dad drove it because I'm not 17 'til june... for £750 it's great, bodywork, paint, interior, are all immaculate.

Needs servicing, new brakes and everything but nothing out of the ordinary.

    And for a non turbo 1.3 I can't believe the performance :p

Now I just have to wait until june then I'll be driving it sensibly below the speed limit ;)

  4. 2 hours on google and I've got no where :p

I either want (saying "want" makes me sound like spoilt child ;) ) some BSA Enforcers or whatever these WedsSports are http://www.night-spirit.co.uk/temp/e6916346822.jpg

although I don't know the name of them and can't find them

I could get the BSA's for £350 including delivery but I don't really want to pay that much when I could possibly get a 15% discount if I wait another month (I hate waiting).

anyone got any other to suggest?

    must be:

    white

    not too flashy

    15 inch

  5. I was going to buy alloys+tyres today, (BSA Enforcers, white) from Halfords as my friend can get me a discount on the sly.

But they didn't have them in stock, and said it wont be until april when they get more.

So are there any good websites to buy them from? (With tyres).

I've seen them for £325 with tyres and £25 P&P so it works out as £350.

I'd like to be paying around £300, less if possible...

Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place.

  6. Mate, it depends on what Spec standard Starlet you are talking about.

Something like a Sportif, or Solida or something came on 145/80/13's i think but not 100% sure on that

SR's came on 195/50/15's which is what most Starlet owners run there car on. Although there isn't much difference between these and 195/45/15 Its totally up to personal preferance on that one.

It totally up to you mate. As long as you get the correct PCD, and dont go to over the top with the profile and width of the tyre you should be ok.

    It's a Sportif.

    If it's 145/80/13, the tyre/wheel calculator says I need 195/40/16 or 185/50/15.

I'd prefer to go for 16s.

So do Sportif's come with 145/80/13s or does anyone else have other answers?

Don't mean to sound fussy or anything but would like to get it as close as possible to standard tyre sizes while still having a decent sized wheel (meaning lower profile tyres obviously).

  7. Thanks, but what are the dimensions of the standard tyres?

Because at the moment my car is up in manchester, which is like a two hour drive away from where I live, and I'll be buying the alloys+tyres on thursday but I wont actually have the car until friday, so I can't check the sizes.

I'll most probably go for 15s or 16s, price shouldn't be an issue, not saying that I can go out and buy anything but I'm not too worried about the price.

The problem is most of the wheels/tyres come as a package, which is a pain in the ass but alot cheaper.

  8. I'm buying new alloys on thursday, but I'd like to keep the same tyre dimensions so that I don't lose any accelleration or mpg and the speedo isn't wrong.

    EP91's are 4 stud, right?

Does anyone know the tyre dimensions and the best size (I'll either get 15s or 16s) to go for?

I'd want to keep the tyre size as close to standard as possible (I'd like to go for wider ones but I definately want some that are the same radius).

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

  9. Hi

I bought a white R reg ep91 Starlet Sportif on saturday. It has 65,000 miles on it, runs fine, no dents or scratches, paint is fine, and only cost me £750.

    A bit about me...

16 years old, 17 in June

    I live in Kidderminster, Worcestershire

Will be doing theory test sometime next month then a few lessons as soon as I'm 17, want to pass ASAP.

What's the general age of people around here?

Not sure what peoples attitude will be to someone my age...

Oh and pics will be up by next week, buying alloys on thursday, collecting the car on friday, then giving it a good clean and polish on saturday so there should be some pics up by saturday night.
