  1. I. Although you have the boost gauge t-piece where i had mine.. The DV i sent to matt worked perfect with just the 1 pipe (no t-pieces or any other pipes connected, just from the throttle body (if it is that) to the bov itself) It shouldnt be the spring tension otherwise it wouldnt have worked properly on mine.. I run stock boost (solenoid removed) and it peaks at around .85 bar on full boost. Appreciate the input guys.. lets hope we can get matt "whooshing"
  2. That may be the problem.. as you can see in my pic that piece is actually fitted into the standard intake pipe. Because you have a relocated 1 maybe that is the problem.. But it should dump if you disconnect the t-piece to your gauge and have 1 pipe straight to the BOV.. Sorry i cant help any more mate as i dont know how it works with the relocated filter :/ .. Im sure later on someone will be too sunburnt to stay outside so will be on here to lend a hand and give some advice
  3. Because i still have the stock Intake pipe and induction kit on the end the piece in your pic is connected to that.. but obviously yours has nowhere to go so its just sat the flopping about.. Im unsure if any air comes out of the pipe . Anyone have any ideas ?
  4. On your bottom pic, see the 2 rubber pipes ? splice the pipe that runs directly behind your top mount fat pipe (comes from the metal injector type thing to the part that is connected onto where your Induction kit is, refer to my pic) use the t-piece there to goto your boost gauge. Then the pipe on your original pic should be 1 pipe with no t-pieces etc just straight into the BOV... It only works well when you drive it.. if you just rev it without it being in gear you will need to rev high to get it to dump.. especially if you have the screw wound tight.. If you loosen it the flutter should go
  5. Let me know how you get on dude.. Im 99% sure it will be whooshing like a goodun if you set it up like i have shown in the pic.. Like i said before it seems the Blitz needs a direct feed of vacuum in order to work properly.. any drop in vac pressure seems to make the piston in the DV not lift.. by the way. loving the garden house breather hahahaha
  6. Ahh ive found the answer Check this pic Use the pipe you have now direct to the DV and then put the t-piece for your boost gauge in the pipe shown above in the pic.. ;)
  7. That looks exactly how i had mine setup when i first had it.. Ill go check mine now and take a pic.. see if i took the vac for the gauge or bov from somewhere else ;)
  8. Are you using the Newer Blitz BOV Joz ? The 1 i had was the adjustable 1 with the nut and screw on top so you could tension the spring to give you whatever sound you like. I had it flutter on low boost and full dump on anything over .5-.6 bar. Im not sure if the newer blitz BOV has an adjustment screw ?
  9. cheers for the heads up mate..Glad i wasnt the only 1 with this problem at first. I remember when i first bought it and it wasnt dumping i was like "WTF" thought the guy had sold me a duff 1 but he put it back onto his car and it worked perfectly. In the back of my mind i think my problem was that i was using a soft silicone rubber hose which when under vacuum "squeezed" itself together obviously blocking itself to the BOV. Matt says he's using samco's but maybe he means only for the pipe from the turbo to the bottom of the BOV (large diameter hole which is connected to the original Re-circ v
  10. Hi all.. Ive just traded my old Blitz for an HKS with matt on here.. When i originally had the blitz it wouldnt dump, but only flutter. After some investigating it was to do with the vacuum pipe as it seems the blitz relies on a dedicated vacuum pipe to work properly. I had it coming from a t-piece (1 pipe to BOV other to boost gauge in the car) I cant remember exactly what i did or where i got the other vacuum pipe from so that it wasnt part of a t-piece. Can anyone shed some light on this? Matt has the same arrangement as me with a t-piece. Is there another vacuum pipe he can use or some o
  11. Would u swap the SSQV for a Blitz ? Fancy a change of noise
  12. Sounds to me like your hitting fuel cut maybe ? This happens to me when its very cold outside. Im running very little mods and stock boost (Hi/Lo solenoid bypassed) and i get this in mostly 3rd gear and above when foot down flat. Im pretty sure thats your problem buddy.. Only way to solve it is to either get a plug n play ECU(Blitz Jam ETC). a emanage or similar or just an FCD (fuel cut defender). The last is the cheapest option. Im not 100% on all the ins and outs of the fuel cut business as mine only happens when its cold outside but im sure someone can give you more info on ways/prices
  13. Well im gonna give him a ring in work 2moro.. see what he says.. Might try welsh coast customs in newport too just as a price comparison but that is an awesome price for a full cat back system. I had a longlife on my golf about 9 years ago and that cost me £380 (including expensive tailpipe) so this is a bargain. All depends what spots he has available as i cant really get off work... So probably would be a weekend.. Ill post back on here 2moro mate and let you know.. Tempted with your decat too
  14. Just got a reply from charlie @ pro speed. "A 2 ½turbo downpipe will be £130.00 all inclusive A performance cat back centre section will be £103.00 all incl (flexi pipe included) A performance back box, with Jap style tailpipe and sound of your choice for your Starlet will be £168.00 all inclusive of design, fitting & vat" So by that im judging £130 for a decat only right ?? Probably go full system with backbox for that price tho.. Cheap as chips.. then get a decat at a later date.
  15. Legend Amjad !! Thanks for that mate !
  16. Cheers Bear.. yea it does look like mild steel centre.. What kind of performance exhaust gives u a mild steel center lol ! If i can get the back box off (flange bolts may aswell be welded on lol) Ive got a guy who can weld it up for free so thats a bit of good news. Cheers both for the info about pro speed.. What are your thoughts on me keeping the Fuji back box (if i can get it welded up nicely) but getting a turbo back from pro-speed ? Ive got the best of both worlds then.. Nice long lasting centre section with decat and a nice Authentic Jap backbox. What kind of discount from £35
  17. Ahh nice.. im liking the sound of that already.. Better start saving then methinks ;).. Cheers for the info Amjad.
  18. @Joz - Like your thinking there .. Altho im sure we would still be looking at £500 tho :/ . @Amjad, thats more the price im looking for.. When you say "Turbo back" you mean the cat is removed and standard stainless pipe in its place? If thats correct how does it work in relation to the sensor (or whatever it is that i see on decats?) Thats 1 thing id like to know too.. Do we need a Cat on a Imported Starlet? Some people ive spoken to said no, others yes. @Jackstar, Yea you mean a more oval, normal looking back box ? Not round like the HKS? Mine is an oval shape. Says Fujitsubo on th
  19. How did u get on mate ? Im having a similar issue.. think my track rod needs doing but be nice to hear what solved your problem. Cheers
  20. Cheers for all the input peeps... Cant find any pictures of any full fujitsubo systems for the EP91 to compare mine to. Ill take it to a garage near me next week when i get paid as i cant get under it properly to see the extent of the rust. Hopefully it can be patched, for now. What kind of prices have people paid for full SS custom systems with a standard jap style backbox ? if its more than £400 i may aswell save a bit more and get a blitz,HKS or similar if the exhausts holds out long enough..
  21. Yea.. But people charge silly amounts for bending some stainless pipe these days.. If it was for a Corsa GSI it would be half the price of any exhaust you see for a starlet... probably less ! Thats what we get for being in a more exclusive car i guess.
  22. Yea might be worth a shot.. Altho how much cheaper would he be able to make it than what its going for already ? Heres the link on ebay Buddy clup spec 2 Glanza
  23. He took them off to change the actual exhaust ? Sounds like it may be a replica if thats the case.. And its uber cheap too. I just seen it on there for around £440ish i think. How legal for MOT's are these ?
  24. What exhaust is it mate.. JASMA is on mine too but im sure thats just a Japanese test that all Japan exhausts must pass.. I think the exhaust note has to be under 95db to gain the JASMA approval plate. Will let u know.. Gonna have a ask around see if anyone local can do it cheap but good.. Im thinkin Welsh coast customs in Newport but dunno what kind of prices they would charge. Still need to know if its definately Mild steel tho.. Im sure the HKS systems etc are full stainless but ive no idea about these fujitsubo exhausts.
