without the thermostat the coolant cant warm up so the CTS will always read cold = the car will constantly throw more fuel in to compensate i.e to try and get things warmed up to operating temp.......you might aswell go to the fuel pump and pour the fuel on the floor!! also you will not have any hot air
Ahhhh sorry to hear it mate, lesson learnt tho any odd smells/noises doesnt take much to just pull over and give everything the once over all the best hope its ok

IMHO id get vented front discs (no drilled or grooved pap) + the pad of your choice "hawk carbon" standard rear solid discs and EBC ultimax (at the most) even some blueprint pads will see you stop well braided lines all round BMC Toyota 5.1 fluid Thats it mates.....if you find this lacking for your needs get some wilwoods/WMS brakes
the slam panel and lower g-box mount are to the -ve terminal, can add more directly to the terminal but may need a different terminal. all the others earth the engine to the chassis add one to the strut, inlet manifold and where ever you like!!
theres 4 main ones driverside mount slam panel lower g-box mount g-box to a small chassis plate (roughly nuder the airbox it will be rusty as fook, use the draper tool to smarten it up ) theres a few others around the bay but these are the main ones....i used 8 gauge thick enough
