Deffo, got a pile of parts to go on ^^ Thanks bro, 1 down 4 to go A
-
From what ive learnt, you have to get your bearing clearances, ring gaping, torques all right for a good bottom end not as easy as slapping it all together need the correct tools i.e gauges/ring gaper/piston ring tool etc Learn by doing is one thing but i sure as hell dont have enough money to spunk on new bearings/rings each time i mess them up/break them.....buy the parts and get someone to build the bottom end for you.

As far as i know all starlets rev 3k at 60mph.....mines at 3k or just slightly bellow that Fuel consumption wise, im not sure what made the most difference its had...... a new lambda sensor (amount of fuel thrown into the engine will have changed) timing was reset due to a prior DIY timing advance that messed things up a while after it was done (started to ping like fcuk and drink like theres no tomorrow) new clutch (so engines not reving faster due to worn clutch) back box was replaced due to the old one blowing As for the earthing kit, its still not finished need to attach the main earth and add a few more here and there the battery terminal i got is gash (looks nice tho) it doesn`t fit the battery terminal correctly even after its been fully tightened (starlet battery terminals are baby sized compared to other cars) so its not fully functioning yet take form that what you will bro, its had alot of TLC not sure which made the most difference A

Get people swearing at me ALL the time because i stick at 30 mph, what really pisses me off is the following women in there zafiras/galaxys etc with kids in the back going over the limit.....over taking and just general arsing around. HELLLOO??? you have kids in the back what are you playing at? do you not care for their lives? Van drivers, seem to think they own the road 99% of the time there some scruff raging the shit out of there 5 bhp van tailgating People who dont seem to get the concept of a 30 mph zone, which i usually followed by a dirty look as they over take yet they are still at lights by the time i get there...pointless? much? failed abortions who drive around with full beams/miss aligned headlights and the occasional in-correctly fitted HID`s not to forget the people who think its ok to put there fog lights on when theres no fog....retard? No offence to anyone here, just some of things which get on my nerves when out and about in the EP A

Be warned, they aren`t cheap....the two most common ones i`ve seen are BMC CDA K+N apollo

Have a look at the WHICH? magazine if you can they put stuff like tv`s etc through their paces and comment on things like quality of the product compared to others and the reliablity of the brand name. Really helpfull we got a dryer machine according to there recomendation and touch wood its still going strong after almost ~3yrs.

As above, you cant refuse that pay for the petrol and come and get the bits off liam for free = win. is there no way of getting the cnut who caused it to cough up for the damage done??
-
The One in the pic is a cone filter if you want to keep the stock airbox you need to get a panel filter namley k+N/TRD. the cone filter can be made to fit with a cold air feed, but IMO stock air box is best with panel filter unless you get a enclosed cone filter I.e a Bmc

Mainly motorway and a some town driving, stick to 60 on the motorway and 70 to overtake (accelerate slowly). Around town its hard to even imagine getting 100, 80 is pretty damn good if you take into account petrol prices and the age of the car the one thing which will save you petrol the most is accelerating slowly...its easy to get carried away in a light weight car such as ours accelerating quick but try it for a few days and you`ll notice the difference. Thanks gtg revise now lol Asad

Hey guys! Just waiting for exams to be over so I can visit the scrapy and get a few bits and pieces got a nice collection of bits to go on/Updates to show you guys. Documented loads of stuff n took plenty of pics. Bobs reached 88k now he's doing well I check the oil level a couple of times a week and look out for other leaks etc Its been nearly 12k since his last service and I still get 100 miles to a £10er got a Minor service at 90k then a major one at 100k so I'm slowly collecting the service parts for when the time comes. Apart from that I'll update the thread when I've settled down back at Home appreciate the interest guys Asad
