  1. What weight oil are you running matey ? last summer i was running 0/50 for track days and it was going through litres per week. Being such a light grade oil there was no sign of smoke from the exhaust though. Almost vapourises. Being from kenya, i assume your not running the standard 10/40 that most of us do ? Starlets burn ALOT of oil, just how they are. Check your intercooler hoses.. You may find you have an intercooler thats acting more like an oil cooler if your turbo seals have shot.
  2. Dont drive it as much, save the cash that would go on the extra fuel and buy a boost gauge only way to tell .. The lights wont be accurate at all. And replace the actuator hose that has the hole in, it will be leaking boost under pressure.
  3. It may feel like a fuel cut , but if your on vacum, it definately wont be! It will only hit fuel cut if your around 0.9 bar. You may have set your actuator at 0.8 for example, but it may be creeping past 0.8, and hitting fuel cut that way. Best bet is to test drive it, take notes when it pulls back, if its doing it on vacum, id check everything else out, i cant possibly think what would feel like fuel cut if it isnt actually it. And dont just go slapping a fuel cut defender on , with out the matching parts, ie , pump, regulator etc. Sure way of upsetting your engine internals. Just try a
  4. he says hes got a new silvia, and hes busy playing in it... but really we all know hes all too busy felching people
  5. Its good to see some trader sections up on our forum now! Its a bugger having to keep going on tgtt to check prices etc, and as stevie b stated, saves telling the new guys where to find parts and traders. What other traders will have have sections up?
  6. 15's for me. perfect balance on the starlets imo
  7. Ask toby about these over on tgtt.com Im sure he was telling me he will start selling these soon, if he doesnt allready sell them now
  8. It doesnt matter now matey, its all sorted Colour match actually came out almost spot on, to my suprise lol Thats being cut back tomorrow and slapped onto the old bumper for now, Gonna go on a quest for a later spec bumper now if you lads hear of any later spec front bumpers going, gimme a shout
  9. Did it have red anodised wheels bro ?
  10. Thanks lads for the comments im only spraying the splitter temp.. getting a respray soon hopefully if i manage to resave lol. yeah idrees, you get first dibs on the standard skirts, im getting some jam skirts and rear splitter within the next couple of months ill let you know as soon as i remove them. The jam lip comes just below the skirts, so yeah your right i do need some slightly deeper ones. undecided on the rear jam lip though, i might get some carbon canards for the rear instead... Plans will no doubt change as i begin hacking the body work up just want the damn thing to mov
  11. exactly. its going to be great if i ever decide to sell up, rather than cuttin it all off again and rejoining the wires. that would be a nightmare. just unplug this.
  12. I got it mixed up at a paint suppliers near me. go to your local paint suppliers and they can mix your colour up. look up your paint code, its in your engine bay under colour. get them to get a swatch out and match the colour up to your car. as most toyota colours have about 10 variations. failing a paint suppliers near you, go into halfords, they can mix paint up whilst ripping your arms and legs off price wise. It is indeedy a field one touch. Should help me to wire in my pfc as i wont have to bend my neck at a 90degree angle under the glove box whilst soldering
  13. Cheers matey. It really didnt look "new" lol only word to describe it was, haggard? the end was hanging out of the box and the gelcoat was totally shattered off the fiberglass underlay it took me 7 hours in all to rebuild the splitter, and prep it enough for primer
  14. driver and dominent haha ill see what mine is
  15. Parts update. Carbon Bonnet & Pins that i fitted a few months back. Also got round to fitting the washer jets into the bonnet too. Few more goodies. PowerEnterprise filter is going in place of my old blitz lm, RoadRunner manifold going in place of my cracked stainless mani and also my relocation samcos and joiners. Tinted Rear windows. Jam front splitter after filling all the cracks and holes in (primered) Jam splitter after 3 coats of colour, just needs to be 1200'wet&dry and laquered for final colour match. Got this week off work to get the work done , now i finally have
  16. if i had to make a life or death decision betwene filters, id go for either an apex'i or power enterprise. both are awesome and small enough to relocate
  17. Yeah as shelly stated,if your filter is in stock postion, and your running an open type (induction) then youll be sucking warm air in, so the stock airbox will do a better job with a performance panel filter inside
  18. The best filter ive had so far, is the power enterprise filter. Cylindrical so it can fit behind the front bumper HKS filters imo are useless. The blitz filter was good, but Its quite an open mesh, so would let a fair amount of dust in.
  19. Welcome back matey. I have muchos respect for the guys like you out there. And also for anybody in the forces.Must take a lot of balls to get out there and do the job. Fire away some pictures
  20. i personally have a nasty dent in the roof gutter sill. i wouldnt however take dry ice to it.. definately not a block of it. that has got to be a sure fire way to damage the paint. id rather wait till i have the cash for a respray , then do the filler work..
  21. best bet would to be check the pcv valve isnt clogged with crap, take the breather pipes off, and wash them out. if that fails, get a compression test done on the head. Could be valve stem seals shot or something else, but if its not the pcv valve, and it only puffs out smoke on decelleration/vacum then id have thought the head has something wrong with it.
  22. If the n/as have a honeycombe style catalyst inside, chisel it out. It will pass the visual cat test on mot but it may fail emissions. Best having a new pipe made then swap for mot time. can you figure out which cylinder is buzzing along with a picture mate ?
  23. Haha thanks everybody specially keirz. nice one chappy ;) saved me a mad headache. i was sitting in there pondering over how to go about fitting the seatbelts for about an hour yesterday before needed asparin lmao such a simple lookin thing can be a right pain in the ass ;) ill get a photo up when ive re sorted it in a while ;) its on there, but the belt isnt going through the gap in the brace, its just hanging behind the seats in the boot atm lol not good for mr police man
  24. Id go for the olympus matey, as it has a higher optical zoom. The difference between 7mp and 10mp will be barely noticeble, id rather have a much better zoom.. I mean lets face it, 7mp will give mega resolution pictures and how often would you want prints larger than a4 sized ;) Id go for the olympus. I was actually lookin at one of these in my jessops store, they look pretty good.
  25. Also what did you do with the old seat belt upper mounts? are they still attatched to the webbing ? but tucked in the boot ?
