To Gain What? 4000rpm to 7500rpm is a decent power band that the td04 gives quite nicely. A decent map or boost controller would give you much better gains in powerband without risking/wearing an engine faster, faffing around getting 500 more revs.

Alternator is not psychically bigger but is just a higher amp'age i think. Starter is alot heftier. Winter also came with a much thicker heater matrix too. Usually there around an inch thick, winter ones are about 2inch.

You can indeed just blank them off. It wont restrict water flow around the system. Not sure how you'd get on from a bleeding point of view. as the matrix is the highest point. May make it even better. How you going de-mist de-fog on cold days?

I havent. I have a friend who runs this exact boss with a quick release tho and it works perfect. The quick release would work with any 6bolt flange boss tho tbh!
