is there anyway of finding out what build number my sr is?
Socks replied to drongo boi's topic in MOT & Maintenance
It will be on the chassis number on the plaque under the bonnet.. Thing is were all the SR's plated up in order... Or did lots of UK starlets come off the production line and only so many fitted with SR parts.... Start posting up chassis numbers guys? -
Tracking and Alignment will help... but you cant get over the laws! A lightweight fwd car, with high power and torque is going to torque steer. Modern cars have all sorts of fancy electronic controlled diffs these days, but the only way they can improve the torque steer Is by making the power even more progressive or limiting the power... You think its bad at 350bhp, it only gets worse at 400bhp+. Bringing a 400bhp+ starlet on boost with an LSD is enough to change your lane on the motorway unless your awake... They take some driving!

UKSO Full of Bullshit And Fucking Retards!
Socks replied to ukso spaz's topic in Welcome New Owners!
This actually made me LOL.... You got bent over by someone selling a dodgy Starlet.... Because that dodgy person 'Told You' they were a major 'Player' on UKSO.... Wow, I think I need to go lie down and be ill for another week.... -
JDM Starlets in the UK - Stats & Index?
Socks replied to Socks's topic in News & General Announcements
This is why, as members of this community. If there are any starlets we know about where people don't get in touch on here, we need to add for them! Purely for statistics There is NO gurantees how accurate it will be, but it will give us a much clearer idea then we currently have no? Last thing I want is people taking this is a PRY on information/data. This is purely for stats and for the good of the community Nothing more! We can track the current amount of the UK registered cars but the imports is VERY difficult to track! -
JDM Starlets in the UK - Stats & Index?
Socks replied to Socks's topic in News & General Announcements
Its usually on the logbook/v5? Yeh crash or broken will be noted... -
This is a question that is asked a lot and we all really want to know! At UKSO we are planning to put something together to keep stats/tabs on the amount of JDM starlets in the UK. How much detail would you guys like this to go into... Reg, Colours, Fate, date imported... etc? What do you think is too much? We don't want to pry and we dont want to keep the current locations of these cars either! Purely for collecting data of the amount of cars left here! It will also be open, for anyone/everyone to add in any JDM starlets. (Some people aren't on ukso or even part of the clubs) Image verification? Also could be a way for people to find history of a car they have purchased or now own... What do we all think? CURRENT REQUIREMENTS TO SUBMIT TO LIST: Date of Details Submitted (auto) Year of Mfg: Year of Import: Reg: Model: Colour: Trans: Links To Info/Build Current: On Road/Sorn...... /DEAD Stripped/Crashed/Exported Owner/Last Owner...... why is the an aftermarket FPR if its all stock? Remove it, its pointless and only going to cause you hassle like this!
-
Why not just ask you that while he was mapping it? :s

The newer vband style Tial ones are water cooled.... Hence the extra ports... You want to put a spring in for the lowest amount of boost you want to run... You use a boost controller to raise it from there... You cant reduce boost lower then the spring pressure!

The guy worked for Paul Roose and fucked him over to start JSP.... His advertising slogan is "cheaper then roose" top goon! Roose hoses are very high quality, very thick and the best out there!
-
Cool to see these things in Canada! How much did it cost you over there if you don't mind me asking? I take it there is no local owners club for starlets? Its all good tho, your welcome here

How far back did you go Colin? Back to where loom enters the bay? Back to fuel tail? Back to ecu? Sounds like an utter pain in the arse haha

Hey folks. After a couple of good working condition ct9 manifolds and heatcovers. No cracks or blows please!

I fucking detest this fault. Seen in on 2 eps now and difficult to trace/track down and fix. Right. Bought a GT few weeks ago. Had a broken knock sensor (was damaged when the headgasket was done) the connector and wire are in tact and seem fine tho. EML is on as soon as the engine is started. So I change the knock sensor. Connect everything back up. Clear the fault code. Start the car. No EML anymore. However whn revving the car to 3000rpm. The EML illuminates again throwing the same knock sensor fault code. Now. Due to the fact it doesn't throw the code straight away. Means it recognises the fact the sensor is there. However. When revved either it is actually knocking.... Or there is a gremlin elsewhere. Now I know the knock sensor is good. It came off another starlet turbo I was using ran perfect! Checked the cambelt timing, distributor, fresh fuel. I don't think it could actually be knocking if I'm honest! Any ideas chaps?

Usually forged pistons come with a tolerance sheet. with all the toleranes the bores need to be bored/honed too. Go 74.5mm, be mad not too when spending a lot of money! You want it to be right! As for the crank, if it hasn't spun a shell. Get the tolerances checked on that too. If there good, get it micropolished... Clean the surfaces....

It happens to all cars. Wether it be paint flaking off, fading, laquer peel.... Etc. The paint has been exposed to UV sunlight, acid rain, snow, tree sap etc. For at least 21years.

Things to check before starting up forged engine
Socks replied to Charlie28's topic in Forged Series
Disable efi. And crank the engine until the oil pressure light goes out. To prime the oil system. You don't want any part of it dry that's for sure. Chec for fuel leaks before starting. Start the engine run it for 30seconds. Checking all fuel system for leaks. Followed by cooling system. Then oil system. Don't load the engine up or Rev it aggressively. -
come to my senses..not looking anymore...beefa powwaa ftw
