I would be interested in a swap with a ecu or big brake kit, if anyone fancies a swap.

Its worth it to me, my first starlet had one and will probably never own a original ever again if it sells. I could have made copies and got £500 no problem and idrees will make alot more than that, he was going to buy it off me at that price because he know's that. I have the pm's to prove this. I wont let it go for any less because its original! To make a fibre glass copy would cost less than £10 in material and Im more than capable of making them years ago but between me holding on to it and phil holding onto the one I sold him prevented that and made them as desirable as they are. A copy is a copy at the end of the day, look at the amount of stuff on ebay thats Chinese copies at considerably lower prices. I know what Id prefer to own

haha trust you john.

too hot mate, ct9 becomes a heat exchanger at a bar its no good. turn the boost down to .8 is the easiest solution

Theres no problem buying a car with no mot as long as youve took into account how much you'll end up spending and I think its better because all the parts ive fitted are the way I like it. I fitted lightwieght torx style wheel nuts too, itll help keep rotating mass down along with the other lightwieght parts
-
Yes it was, but I knew the car since its been imported. I was trying to get a mint mk1 gt but the fella selling it messed me around so I ended up with this

Bought this a couple of months ago as a project. It had no mot, good spec with everything fitted but badly done. Quick Spec: Oem Full Recaro Interior Oem LSD Excedy Clutch Tial External Wastegate 0.5 bar spring Wepr Power Up Kit Wepr FMIC SARD FPR Jam FCC HKS SSQV Since then I've replaced rear brake balance valve, machined a plug for were the internal wastegate was and braised it in and ported the inside of the hot side smooth. Replaced both crank oil seals, fitted a 3.7kg flywheel, Lightwieght crank pulley, New excedy friction plate, release bearing, gear oil. Seam welded parts of the engine bay and fitted everything back together properly. It was a shambles before with parts missing and bolts missing everywere. I plan to get a hybrid ct9, uprated fuel pump and pick a ecu in the new year.
-
yeah good idea, maybe he knows a hot side you can use.
-
Looking good mate, im liking the spec bet its nice and responsive. You said you dont want it off the road anymore but in my opinion if your wanting to run the k1 near 1 bar it wont be long until the wastegate cracks and you cant swap the hot side with a ct9 as far as i can remeber. Just a lil something to take into concideration for the future

Loving the colour of the side pillar bars, have you got any pics of them fitted?
-
Lazy the rest of your cars mint you may aswell get them up to the same standard. Oh can you still get speedline ones from eBay? Il have to have a look, cheers.

Added a rear strut brace i made out of a old front one i had lying about, aloso made a rear c-pillar bar. By far the best handling mods ive ever done for the money, I noticed a massive difference for a change. Under-steer has dramatically reduced, I expected nothing because of previous experience with various braces over the years. Im thinking about removing the front one to see if it helps it stop 'pushing the nose' any more. So happy Ive done this, its a worth while mod for a change.
