  1. Don't forget though son, Sicaln is right...you only truly learn to drive when you pass your test Keep safe ;)
  2. Welcome aboard Ant, your car does have one of the engines from the pics I'll keep you posted over the next few days...I hope it's a good car for you, it's an interesting GT with a cool history anyway. Mark
  3. I remember when I passed my test son...1995 it was..I was just 17. I've owned over 12 cars since then and driven over 200,000 miles on road and track..you make me proud *sniff*
  4. Was that like some pagan ritual before the test?
  5. I find that treating every set of traffic lights like the line at a drag strip can go against you... don't forget to check your mirrors a lot, to see how far behind everyone is when you floor it. If you can't parallel park just handbrake it in. You'll be fine
  6. pink is the way forward..I like the way it clashes with every other colour on the car
  7. The test is one of the most important in your life I reckon...apart from that test for AIDS. Good luck old chape
  8. Yashio do a whole range of crazy colours...including black, aly, metallic blue and they even do green with plastic clear tanks (ltd edition). But it has to be pink.
  9. I checked on the wifes glanza and it's definitely different. Plus the temps (without the fan) are down to 75deg The spec list of the car is built up entirely from parts sourced via Yahoo japan and other used parts sources out there...that was the point of the car, to show what you could do with Yahoo and a bidding service like nightSpirit. Shameless plug there
  10. Nope it is pink...just as Lord Yashio intended (although they do rads in several colours including black and metallic blue...this one just turned out to be pink) It weighs the same as the old rad 3.5kg
  11. Yashio radiator installed Rick as promised..pics.
  12. on the track...got it in one Mart I think it's like Marmite, you either love it or think it's complete shite but hey, it's unique
  13. Cut me real deep just now... I own no burberry, I have never bought jewellery from Argos, I don't listen to music that gives you a nose bleed simply from looking at the CD cover, I fail to see the point of 'neons', I'm not on the dole, I have no children called Adidas or any other rediculous name, I don't think sportswear is suitable atire outside of a sports hall...I do however, have a penchant for sports footwear, if that makes me a chav, then I'm guilty
  14. hehe, cheers Phil Still not so sure about it to be honest, the more I've done recently, the more the car has become a chav chariot. It's interesting, if you turn a budget car into a race/track car and modify it, you're considered a chav...if you do the exact same thing to an Evo/Cosworth/Lotus etc it's a race car...the annoying thing is I could easily afford any one of those cars but my head (and my wife) just can't justify the cost of running the thing...just not worth it. Let's see how it looks with the HRF front end in place
  15. it's one of those things...no idea on the history of the rad, only going on what the seller had to say about it... Having the observational skills of a dead, blind mole I've only just noticed your pink theme you've got going on, I like it.
  16. Matt black...I can answer with certainty, 3 coats on each part of the car I've used 15 cans. Simoniz @ £2.95 a tin (500 ml)
  17. BlueWater I will hopefully be there...although I think the car looks a bit gash at the moment, not sure about the wing. Will let you know tomorrow Rick, I picked it up used in Japan, not from Yahoo...another used parts source.
  18. I wouldn't have painted the CF bonnet if I'd have been better at removing the lacquer...not easy. Also I wouldn't have painted the bloody wing, or fixed it with FRP matting if I'd taken the time to check if it was CF or not I'll find out tonight Rick if it's EP82/EP91 specific, tbh from the preliminary check it's like a beefy version of the stock unit.
  19. Yashio Facutori yesh. It's twin layer goodness with tanks twice the size of the stock one...think the core is 3.2cm thick? And yes, it's bright pink.
  20. my car cover no longer fits too...
  21. Yup..I painted CF again That's not the worst part Rick, I've repaired it with FRP matting...thinking it was FRP. Only when I sanded it down to spray did I spot the carbon. Next time on how to mess up a nice EP, pink radiators...courtesy of Yashio Facutori
  22. That's one word for it
  23. Got the wing on, it's so shit it's awesome.
  24. Yup...that was my thought. For the weight you'd save (negligeble) it's not worth the worry. We're trying to get creative with where we can save weight on the car Cheers Rick/Raje!
  25. strange question this, good friend of mine is building a track ep...he's currently lightening all he can and he's hit upon the rad overflow tank. I understand how this system works and why it's there but (and only a but) if you removed the overflow and let the top pipe to it from the rad just vent to the floor, would the rad just heat up and expel all its fluid or only a certain amount (like when you bleed the coolant system). If it only expels a small amount, you could in theory top up the rad after xx months/days/minutes. If the rad is full but the overflow tank is empty the vacuum in the system is lost anyway meaning the rad will be sucking air in and not liquid if the overflow tank was full, my friend is in this situation and he's never had a cooling problem and never needed to top up the rad...hence the question.
