it was a BGA standard head gasket, i was told by a few people on here 1.2 bar will be fine on a standard gasket....... WRONG!!!! im pretty sure its due to having too much boost going through it.

**Update** well after 683 miles I've now lost compression in 2 cylinders, i was so pissed off i thought about breaking/selling her and moving on with something else. However, i took the head of tonight to find this... After a long hard think about it and a long good stare at the car, I've decided to continue with her. She will be back soon. Athena 1.4mm headgasket and ARP headbolts

so gutted i wont be at this...

awsome dude, thats exactly what i was after!! -
only reason i didnt use uprated bolts and gaskets was due to me swapping the heads later on with a ported and polished one. il rip the head off tomorrow and make sure thats it, if so il get it repaired with ARP bolts and uprated headgasket and see how i get on
-
cheers dude, im not sure if i should just sell up and move on or not??
-
no idea mate, head was skimmed before being put back together same as the block, everything tourqued down correctly etc.. i am running 1.1 bar on a CT9 on standard headgasket but i was told it could handle 1.2 with no problems??? im going to get a 1.4-1.9mm Athena one now instead with ARP bolts.

I've got no compression in the two left hand cylinders (cambelt side), no water loss, no banging or anything, i take it its the headgasket thats gone between the cylinders???
-
Dont speak to soon bud. Yesterday i lost two cylinders, i have no compression in either left hand cylinders, im pretty sure its headgasket but wont know for sure until the head comes off which will be tomorrow. I am so fucked off with this car now its unreal, i really am considering selling it.
-
i cant fuckin make this now.... my headgasket was the cause of the loss of two cylinders..... i am seriously considering getting rid of the glanza!!! sorry
-
seems to be cylinders 1 & 2 which arnt firing up, there seems to be good compression but i will be doing the test tommorow. il get new plugs and try leads @ dizzy
-
look fine mate
-
i hope so, just need to try another dizzy cap and go from there
-
i really hope i can go to this, I've just lost two cylinders!!
-
drove the car all day, then on the way back home its missfiring like mad. i pulled over and let it idle, when you pull 1 &2 leads out its still idling, when you pull out either leads 3 or 4 it dies. all of them are still sparking, and I've swapped 3&4 plugs with 1&2 but its still doing it. its down on 2 cylinders ( 2 closest to cam belt) and im unsure as to what it could be. im waiting for my mate to txt me so i can try his dizzy cap. any ideas??
