all the shims are the same as when the head was taken off, nothing has been swapped etc so should be fine. I've literally only started it up about 4 times, I've not even driven it yet

i started the engine tonight and sounds very very smooth, however when you give it a rev, the tappets are very loud, i have heard that if you dont fill the shim buckets with oil (which i didnt) then it will be tappety for a few miles until the oil gets to it, is that correct????? cheers

going to do it once I've reached 1200 miles on the engine, let it properly settle in

i put the new engine back in yesterday and connected as many of the cables and ports that i knew. im now stuck with the following and need to know were to connect them.; 1. 2. Small one one the right 3. 4. The one closest to the throttle body 5. 6. Need to know were both pipes go to and also, does this sensor just have a tube straight to the MAP sensor?? (purple hose) any help will be much appreciated guys. cheers

**** UPDATE **** Well, the engine has now been finished, and is now fitted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Took me and my mates about 1 hour to get the engine in and then 30 mins to connect everything. I had the head skimmed and cleaned, and im using standard headgasket for my TD04. havent started it yet because i need some oil lol, also need to connect the water/air lines on the inlet mani, but need a picture of were they all go if someone could help me out??

i finished re-building mine today mate, i followed that video guide and was perfect! make sure you use a torque wrench and get the correct settings. i would say you can use my stand if you want to mate but your all the way up north. lol
