Not had any experience with track days in GT's but i have done a few in my lexus and my bro's old supra when he had it. If you don't already have your own helmet then i would suggest buying one, most tracks will loan them out but its usually a good idea to have your own. Don't have to be a stupiddly expensive one but make sure it has all the correct standards. I would also think about a small fire extinguisher unit, i have a small CO2 unit in my boot. More than likely i will never need it but if the worst case happens then it could mean the difference between your car going up in flames or s

Modified Madness (thorney Island Nr Portsmouth)
jason_l replied to Spanner's topic in Southern Central Region
Im over in Southampton, other side of the water though, on the edge of the new forest. Thinks someone will have to organise a south meet at some point -
^^ Will be sticking with the standard TMIC for the moment and then when its road legal it will get a HUGE one mounted behind the seats, but raised up so that it gets some air flow. Will have to make up some huge vents to duct some air direct to it! Jason

Cool, its made from starlet bits so its half way there. Plus its for charity so the more the better

I would be interested if you don't mind a non starlet tagging along

Just down the road from me, doubt you will get too many jap cars there as it clash's with JAE -
Thanks mate, will be staying CT9 hybrid now me thinks *** Update *** Got up to TGT to measure/check a few things on the buggy. They are going to be mega busy moving premesis and getting ready for JAE so think they may not get anything done this month, can't blame them really. However it will be back on next month and i will have more cash to fuel the work I have started ordering a few more bits and they are slowly turning up, first was my race tow strap. Nice and light as there is not much to it but will easily pull the buggy if i get stuck in the gravel traps Started looking at makin

Last few months i have been thinking of options with TD04 and CT9. I wouldn't be going TD04 for a while as im going to just concentrate on getting it road legal first. If i change to TD04 then would need new manifold/turbo/exhaust etc etc. Think like you said CT9 will be more than enough, although that CT9 will be a hybrid
-
LOL should be good. I know the CT9 will be great as it will be almost no Lag but i don't know if the TD04 will be too laggy. Most of you are probably laughing at that comment now I know they are probably not laggy at all. Would be good to know what people with TD04's think? Does the boost come on around the same as a CT9 or does it come in a littl later? Jason

Thats the 4efte engine sitting in at the moment its almost in but needs another mount creating at the back! will get more clos eup pictures over the weeknd so you can see it in all its glory

Right, got the powerflex poly engine mounts on order so they should be here shortly. Also while i was trailing through ebay i picked up a race Tow strap for the front. Its basically a harness fixing with a webbing strap attached and is used like a normal race tow fixing. The good thing about it is that as its only a metal fixing and a webbing strap its pretty dam light. I have started looking at induction kit options and will be measuring up pipework over the next few days and then will probably buy the bits i need while im at JAE Plan is to stay CT9 for the moment and hopefully go for TD0

Thanks Mate, legend

Hi All, I have started looking at making a custom induction kit for the 'Demon' and i already have a K&N filter that i picked up from Halfrauds for £15. Im looking at the filter relocation kit but i just need to know the size and shape of the part that goes onto the turbo? I know i could check myself but i don't have the buggy here so can't measure it. Anybody know the size, im guessing i will need a 90 degree elbow reducer? Does anybody have any pictures of the relocation kit off the car and can measure it for me? many thanks, The filter size is 80mm pipework and im aware i w

I have used the clay system several times before on different cars and it works a treat. I use a wax called Collinite Auto wax after its been clayed, its not expensive wax. Roughly £15-20 a tin but my god does it make the paintwork shine. And i have never felt paintwork so smooth after using this stuff. You won't believe how smooth it makes the paint Highly recommend the stuff! Jason

Thanks Mate! Your getting excited Im dying to get this thing done!!!! Was good trailering it though, had sooooo many people looking at it as they drove past! I love watching their faces as they stare at it as they drive past. Hopefully i will get a few little bits sorted this end over the next few days.......

*** Update Time *** Got a few parts bought, a few on order and some to soon be on order and follow later. Firstly got the new rear side vents ordered up from Xsport in basingstoke and they arrived early this week, need a little work but will sort these out soon and nothing too bad. These are being used to vent some air to a oil cooler and generally just cool the engine a bit. Next came the Fiat Chinqy rad, now being mounted at the front of the car. Its only small i know but will have a couple of small spal fans added to the rear of it to help draw the air through it. Fits at the front o

Yes they come and collect, you tell them what time and where to collect. Every time i have sent something they just put it in the van and drive off. I don't know if they weigh the item later but i usually over compensate a bit on the weight of the item! Jason
-
Make sure before you give the car to them to be scrapped that you rip everything out of it that you can, sell the interior minus drivers seat, door cards, carpet, roof lining, etc
-
I always use a company called interparcel. Will give you an instant quote on line, just put in weight and dimmensions and it will give you quotes from about 6-7 couriers and all the offerered services and the prices are very cheap!!!! http://www.interparcel.com/ Jason
