  1. I don't mind the wet weather at the moment! Sounds crazy i know but if its crap outside then i jsut get on with the kitcar in the workshop. When the weather is nice i get pissed off as i want this thing up and running! Although i will want to see the sun when this thing is ready
  2. Im interested in seing the new designs also, might order some at some point.............even though i don't have windows ;) ;)
  3. LOL i haven't seen that before!
  4. Close its Lockyer The JGTC supe he had was lush but it was soooooooo wide that he couldn't drive it like he wanted.
  5. Just got back from the wedding and im back on this now I think i can get it to change colour, i think it would just be a case of adding an additional LED in behind the cluster. However it would mean purchasing a additional shift light system and taking it apart and splicing in a feed for the extra led. Think im going to just have the GT part light up red/blue. If anyone buys a set and wants me to add the extra LED in behind i can do it for an extra £5 and add a couple of extra wires, it would then be up to the buyer to modify their shift light and splice the extra led in! I could go crazy with these and change loads of stuff, add extra bits etc but it will just get way to expensive. The more that gets added to these the higher the price will start going. £55 is as cheap as i can get it and i think i can do the GT part light up for less than £60 delivered for the set. I will shortly have a few sets for sale if anyone is interested in trialing the first batch then PM me. Jason
  6. Im sure you can make the same money you would by selling it. However it all come down to do you have the time to take things apart, post everything. Send Pm's, chase people up etc. I know its not the same but i was looking for a GT engine, gearbox, loom and driveshafts for my build a little while ago. I was told to expect to pay £500 for a front cut starlet. In the end i bought a crash damaged GT on ebay for £600. Pretty much standard apart from a few things. People are always after bits and after selling the trust backbox, carpet, spoiler, wind deflectors and other bits i was left with Engine (all working), gearbox, dump valve, V5C in my name, driveshafts, loom, chassis plate, mounts all for less than £150. Bargain if you ask me. Was a little more work than just buying an engine but i now have the V5C which is priceless when building a kit car. Jason
  7. Ok guys i have just very quickly had a look at the rear of the cluster and i believe i can get the GT part to light up Its alot more involved and would have to be done on an exchange basis. The rest of the cluster would remain yours but i would have to send you a modified rev gauge and in return i would need your rev gauge. Also i reckon i could add an additional LED to the rear of the GT part that could be seperately wired into a shift light. So you could have the GT part light up say blue and when you reach the rev limiter it would change to red! This would involve the use of a seperate shift light and some modification but it could be done!!!!!! Not sure if i can get the glanza version to light up in a similar way, won't know till i start work on the glanza set. Jason
  8. Will think about it over the weekend, might be able to sort something out, might make then a couple of £ more expensive but might be able to sort something out. The only other design i have is one that has the toyota badge and text on the mph gauge and the GT logo on the rev gage. The rest is just left stainless steel, bit more suttle than these, although i don't have a set made up yet as wanted to check fitment of these first! Glanza version will be available at some point, just when i find time. I have a little free time at the moment while i can't work on the kit car but when that comes back i will be working more on that. Jason
  9. im keen to do all versions of the starlet now that i have one version, otherwise i will forever have people asking ;do you do a ep91 set, do you do a sr set?' If i sell 5 versions of the ep82 set then i can justify a 91 version
  10. So basically im going to be BUSY LOL if these EP82 ones sell then i can fund the other options. Also have interest in BMW, mazda and Nissan versions but i just don't have the time, what with trying to build a car as well
  11. OK, looks like there may be some interest in a EP91 set I take it the N/A is different to the Turbo dials? I will be making a EP91 set then as i have had several people asking me for them now, just not for a while yet.
  12. All in due time Next set will be the Paseo version, if i can get my hands on some EP91 dials then i can make some. I will need to know i can sell some of these before i go investing money and time in other different sets. Think i need to start a for sale thread on these.............
  13. Thanks mate. Won't be able to get a pic of them lit up as i don't have the rest of the car I could do the GT part as a cut out and could supply a red vinyl piece to put behind so the GT part is red but i think it would be a bit more work to get it to light up. Although, let me have a think.............................
  14. Just got in and test fitted the dials. Fitment is pretty much 100% and i think they look great!!! Some people might think they look a little bit extreme but if you ask me there is nothing suttle about the starlet anyway so why hold back! Of course i can do other designs and i will be doing a few more 'Off the shelf' versions that will have the toyota logo, text,gt logo etc. I can do other one off designs if people want but it will cost a little more £ as they need to create a tool for each design. Anyway enough talk, here are the pics. Comments good and bad are welcome, what other designs would people like to see??? Free badges with the dials........ dials after a quick polish......... Standard dials........... and the pictures you have all been waiting for..........they are not stuck down just put in place but line up perfectly when stuck down. Im at a wedding the whole weekend from tomorrow but i will be ready to start taking orders and producing new designs from monday Jason
  15. You will recieve just the dial faces and you fit them yourself. Its really not a bad job, or i can meet you at a stalet meet (JAE etc) and i will fit them for you. I have also purchased a few dial clusters so i can do a exchange basis, or lend a speedo cluster while i fit them for you. Im not going to charge for fitment but people will need to cover the extra postage costs. Next week i will post up a full fitting instructions post and possibly even a youtube vid showing how to fit them. The lexus dials are a bit more complicated to fit but looking at the starlet cluster its clear that they are sooooo easy to do! Jason
  16. He is picking it up tomorrow i believe, getting set up on the rollers saturday then its going home! Mine is still there though and will be for a while yet. Every time i go up there im always drooling over yours!!!! luckily it has a cover on it!
  17. Glad to see your keeping it, best decision Ryan @ 2bartunning is a legend! He is working on my bro's car (simon with the white phenix power MR2) and will be setting up my little beast when im ready! Jason
  18. Good news, Postie has just been and sure enough he has delivered the dials. Had a quick look at them and on first impressions they look very good. Will get them polished up on my lunch break and will have some pictures for people to see toinight. As long as they can go over the needles without any issues then these will be available from Monday (im away over the weekend so won't be able to do any before then). The extra 'GT' and 'TOYOTA' badge look pretty good as well and these will add that extra little feature. They are already pre drilled with fixing holes so will be able to be placed pretty much anywhere. Thanks for your patience people Jason
  19. Ok guys and Gals, Unfortunately the tester set didin't arrive today so it looks like pictures will have to be tomorrow. However the material for the Odometer pins arrived yesterday so i had a little bit of time spare on my lunch break to knock out the first batch. These will come free with the dial kit, these look loads better in the flesh. I know its not much but it will add that extra touch to the dials, these look like chrome! Old plastic version Vs New polished version They take 5 seconds to install, simply unscrew old one, then screw new one on! Will post up Tomorrow if the dials arive, if they don't arive tomorrow then there will be no pics till monday as im away for the weekend, fingers crossed they are here tomorrow!!!!!!! Jason ;)
  20. I did say that i need the tester asap and he said they should arive with me on Wednesday morning, so hopefully if all goes to plan the just after 6pm on wednesday evening i will get the pictures of the dials roughly fitted to my smashed up cluster
  21. Looks good so far mate I find it quite satisfying buying a car from a chav/looser and sorting it out and doing it properly. Felt great buying my GT knowing that im taking it away from somone who didn't know how to drive it and knowing that it was going to go onto great things. Looking forward to more updates, including kill stories of the crappy french gimps Jason
  22. OK, i have just been able to speak to the etching company and i have managed to get the price a little cheaper. The final price for these will be £55 delivered to your door! (£60 for international buyers). They have put the tester into production and should be with me later this week Jason
  23. You will have PM soon mate
  24. Its not cheap! Put it this way, the bike model cost me £1000 in materials and 6 months full time of my life. 6 months work at a reasonable rate and your looking at about £10,000+ for something similar I almost sold this model to Orange County Choppers and was in talks about the price ($1000) but they never reached an agreement. Jason
  25. OK, the first set have been emailed off and will be in production within the coming week. Im hoping to have them tested for fitment (not expecting any problems) and hopefully fitted to a speedo cluster by the weekend and when i have them then pictures will go up and i can start a group buy for those interested in them. Will also sort out some fitting instructions with a step by step guide but to be honest they will be very easy to fit and most people will be able to manage it without any problems. I will be running a group buy for JAE where i will fit them for people free of charge. Becasue the size of the file is slightly larger than the lexus version im expecting these to be £60 delivered but will confirm this when i know a definate price. The company making the dials charge for size, the layout means it takes up more room but gives a little amount of spare space so i have been able to add a few extra little bits at no extra cost For your money you will get the following: * Full etched Stainless steel dials, consisting of Revs, MPH, water temp and fuel gauge. + Small etched GT badge, comes free with the kit at no extra cost. + Small etched Toyota badge, Comes free with the kit at no extra charge. + Polished Alloy Odometer trip reset pin, this is the plastic pin that resets the trip on the MPH gauge.
