/\ thanks mate, see these are the comments i like so much *** Small Update *** Last Saturday i managed to get up to TGT and have a little look round the car and get a few bits painted, i didn't bother painting loads of it as he still has some welding to do on the frame. its getting there though, although still a long way off! I believe he may have done some more this week but i didn't get a chance to speak to him before he went on holiday Sort of looks alot more racey now and should go some when its done. Well James is on Holiday now for 2 weeks so no more update for a little bit but i have managed to sort a few things out this week...... Firstly i ordered up some hardened 7/16 bolts for the harnesses and turned up some inserts on the Lathe that will be welded into the rear bar to secure the harnesses. Went to my local Halfrauds and they where selling off alot of stuff, picked up a new K&N induction kit for a vauxhall corsa but its a nice size filter so will be ideal for the beast for the moment, only reduced because the box looed tatty, £15!!!!! bargain Few weeks ago i got a few little bits at the Japanese Tunning show, Exhaust wrap and metal ties £12 and some rather nice roll cage padding, 2 metres £10 My bro had some spare heat shield material lying about so he has given me the remainder, had a look and there is about 2 metres of the stuff!!! nearly £60 in value He is also changing his oil cooler setup so he has given me his old Setrab 10 row cooler free of charge ;) Also bought a RX7 top mount intercooler on ebay although im not sure if i will be using it yet? Not much i can do now for 2 weeks until James is back and i have access to the buggy again. Jason

I had a 1.2 75 sx punto before i bought the lexus(technically not a glanza but still toyota engine) the punto i had was constantly being repaired and fixed and in the end i just got rid of it, the old jokes are true! FIAT = Fix It Again Tomorrow ;) Toyota are known for their good reliable engine's, as with everything there a a few bad ones but as long as its serviced when it should be and looked after you will be fine

Ok guys and Gals, I have just called up Adrian Flux (kitcar department) to ge my first quote on the 'Demon' and was suprissed with the outcome ;) Thought i would have a bit of fun and see who can guess closest? I expalined everything with them over the phone that i could and here are some finer details for you to help guestimate........... For those of you that don't know this is the car i got a quote on........ * fully comp * £100 excess * 3000 miles per year * All mods declared including the 4EFTE engine * Roughly 350BHP per tonne * £3500 value So let the guessing begin, will reveal all later this evening and closest wins a passenger ride at a meet/track day/JAE etc Jason

Now that seems completely unfair! Personnaly i thought you would get more of a punishment doing 128mph! I don't get how they work out some of these punishments? LOL, far from it! My job pays ok but im far from made of money This has been built up over the last 5 years so i have been spending on it a little at a time. I have only recently started spending on the 'Demon', hence why spending has stopped on this. Im currently well into my overdraft so have to slow up on the 'Demon' for a few months now................although this week i have picked up some absolute bargains will explain more soon

Thanks for comments guys, not the most modified lexus by a long shot, plus i have now put a stop on any more stuff on the car. Its just not built for speed so no point spending thousands to get any more power out of it, plus no point also when i have the 'Demon'. Its not too bad getting it sideways, takes a bit of work getting it there and it doesn't reaaly have the power to hold a drift but its a nice comfortable car for every day

Well the GT cost me £600........... since then i have spent £15 on a K&N filter Thats it so far, but technically its no longer a GT

Next time im up at TGT working on the 'Demon' i will try and get lots of engine pics for you. Don't know if this will help though as the engine ain't in a car

I find this site very helpfull and the members are very friendly also. Im on several owners clubs for different cars and this seems to be one of the best tbh. Im on here on a daily basis and have learnt loads about the 4EFTE just from looking through posts etc Im also on TGTT but only been on there a handfull of times. I find the layout of this site great, especially the template for the 'For Sale' section. Makes sure everyone posts the same format and there is no stupid posts Thanks to all who have welcomed me into the fold also, even though i don't own a GT/glanza, just bits of one

Tell me about it, i know James (TGT owner) is very keen to get this done and use it as one of their show cars. He offered me a very good rate early on which is one of the reasons i went with him. He is charging me £20ph as there is some R&D work involved so he said he couldn't charge me full price. They usually charge £40ph, which to be honest is a great price anyway. Last time i spoke to him i owed him for 3 days work, that was before this. At the end of the day it takes as long as it takes and i have full faith in his work! Thanks mate i also keep forgeting how insane this thing will be Everytime i go up there to see it James always says 'Do you really know how fast this thing will be'.......to which i say 'yes'...... to which he normilly says 'No, but do you REALLY know how fast this thing is going to be, there will be smiles all round when that engine fires up for the first time' Jason

*** Phat Ass *** My bro went up to ToyotaGT today to check on his MR2 engine rebuild and while he was there he kindly got a few snaps for me of the buggy Looks like they have been cracking on with it again this week and her Ass is starting to get PHAT. My bro says it has almost the same wheelbase as a MR2 but looks alot smaller because there are no panels to it. Anyway here are the pictures.............. The last picture makes it look so mean now with the extra size Obviously there will be extra strengthening to be added and the chassis needs to be put back together fully but she's starting to get there now What do people think? Im sure there are other options??? However i believe there a quite a few people that have put the starlet GT engine into a N/A so if you get stuck you will have others to help you out. Have a look under the 'members rides' section and you will see plenty of engine swaps that have been done! I believe there are a few GT engines for sale in the sale section also

4EFTE is the way to go, i picked up a crash damaged GT for £600. After selling off all the bits i didn't need from the car plus my old engine etc i had everything i need for my project and it worked out that the bits i had left (engine, gearbox, wiring loom, ecu, driveshafts, V5C) only ended up costing me £150! The way to go if your going to do a engine swap if you ask me, there are loads of people after bits so you can easily get rid of most bits And when you want rid of the remains just tell people its free if they collect and the vultures will start circling

Welcome to the club Project sounds good, and some pretty dam quick progress. removing as much of the car as you can to save weight is the way to go!!!! When mines done im going to go over the whole of the car trying to get every thing as light as i can Anyway, get some pics up asap! Jason
