  5. If I lost my gf and job etc I would be looking at the navy, purely for the fact it's one of the safest armed forces jobs going (how many subs/ships do you hear about getting sunk or attacked?) My dad and brother have both been in the navy, my brother is a glorified waiter, and because he does a good job, he gets offers for extra work on other ships (navy, commercial and industrial) when he isnt serving as the captains and staff above him recommend him! The closest he's been to war is the falklands!

  9. I'm grateful for the replies... I suppose I'm just being an arse! It's funny cus I've done this job for nearly a year now, but it's only become an issue this week for me!
  10. Hi Guys and Girls, i dont know if anyones gonna be able to help me but im gonna give it a try anyway... im currently employed as a photocopier field engineer and i drive around the country in a company car fixing photocopiers and stuff... which is great fun! this week i have had a bit of a dispute with the boss regarding the terms of my contract and the times i work. he believes that, although it states in my contract that i work from 9.00am to 5.30pm, i have to arrive at my first customer at 9.00am regardless of what time i have to leave to get there. so if i need to be in bir
  11. "no youporn, I dont want to play poker... I'm at work!" ^ equally ironic.... Lol
  12. If my boss told me to clean the shitter, I'd do it after I'd researched all of the health and safety aspects and made sure all of the req'd equipment was available... And then I would spend as much time as poss doing it, I'd make it absolutely spotless even if it took me 4 hours... Just to rub it in!
  13. I worked at a tesco express whilst at college. Worked really hard for the first two weeks and got things done super fast! Like when we received new cages I'd have them done in like 2 hours which they normally took 3 and a half! They offered me a management role in a new store and I said no cus I wanted to do IT! After I declined they cut my hours... Bad move!
  14. Looking good mate! What was the bump for?
  15. not normally a fan of dubstep stuff but... Engine-EarZ Experiment - Revolution felt them live at the brixton academy when my bro got me tickets to see the streets live earlier this year, i say felt because the whole building was shaking from the bass and the masses of people jumping deffo got the place on its toes!
  16. Ok mate, can you send me a link to said compressors? What kind of work is involved with reseating the valves?
  17. I wouldn't know Adam from eve tbh... There was a load of oil and White gunk about the place, along with some White crusty stuff and a layer of carbon over the pistons! Most of it was pretty dry as the engine has been sitting for a while! Anyone recommend a spring compressor for the valve stems?
  18. Wow... A positive response from TheStarletGT! Thanks, much appreciated... Will try get some engine cleaning fluid stuff during the week. Now the head is off, I wanna prep and clean it up as much as possible ready for skimming! What do I need to do? Also have alot of metal fragments hanging around and paint flakes (where rocker cover was previously painted) all floating around in the remaining oil. Do I need to remove the valves from the head? If so how do I do it? Is there something I can bath the head in to remove the old oil and crap?
  19. welcome to the club! i think this is the easiest forum to use! once you get to grips with it, youll be fine! loads of technical info at the ready and always some idiot that know nothing about cars trying to rebuild a 4E-FTE (me) that you can have a laugh at!
  20. riiiiighty! quick update to piss on TheStarletGT's bonfire, The rounded bolt has now been removed sucessfully by my good friend Eli! He managed to drill a perfect pilot hole down the centre of the bolt and then increased the size of the bit until he could get a torx socket in the fresh hole (persuaded by a block hammer) and out it came with no damage got the head off and the head gasket, and everything is looking good! quick question... what shall i use to clean all of the shit off of the head and block? also it looks like a bar-b-q on the piston heads... cani clean it off and again what s
  21. im a massive fan of Metallica...
  22. Cheers guys... Lesson learnt! Lol I got a friend coming round that has seen this too many times (works at an independent garage) on Saturday morning that said he might have a "manly tool" for the job To anyone that's gonna be using this as a reference, I strongly advise only using the right tools for the job! No improvisation as it just bites you back in the arse! The correct tool is an m9 spline tool that can be purchased at TM - Developments, or in a set from any good tool or motor factor!
