  1. Is that the one on the firewall? I don't think mine has a filter? Is there a way of metering it to check the output? Or cleaning it if it isn't filtered?
  2. Hi guys, Slight issue with the engine management light coming on when I pull off, as soon as I'm near neutral pressure (neither boost or vac) the EML comes on. I've used both a BLITZ Access ECU and a standard ECU and they both do it! I've done a diagnostic and error 34 ( boost pressure sensor) comes up, any ideas? Cheers, Nath
  3. They opted to leave the useless parts and just take home the good bits... She doesn't get "headaches" anymore! ;)
  4. she'll appreciate that you appreciate that shes a stunner! lol you want me to delete it?
  5. ha ha fair enough! the air filter looks a bit sketchy, the vac lines were all a mess, with some kind of black device that just said "Boost" on it, no electrical cables and no adjustment? just a nipple for vac to go in? ummm... there was a loop of vac hoses that did nothing at all, from the BOV back to the BOV?!? lol
  6. Bought a greddy ebc, cusco lower brace, pillar pod, aftermarket exhaust mani and blitz access ECU... Top guy! Always happy to help!

It's still alive... Lol I've now got it!
  8. im not actually using the FCD or boost controller at the moment. I have a stock actuator on at the moment, and im only using the EBC as a digital boost gauge theoretically (the solenoid bypassed and the stock actuator plumbed in with hi lo bypass mod) but due to the decat and front mounted air filter, im getting boost creep, and then hitting fuel cut. I don't want mega power, I want stable and healthy power, but I cant be dealing with spending money on making it stock, so im getting a blitz ECU and aftermarket exhaust mani to increase the fuelling, and get rid of the restrictions on the 2n
  9. the HKS actuator I had was stiff, so I guess had a 1 bar or more spring in it. a manual boost controller wont let you adjust LOWER than what your actuator is set to only MORE... if the actuators spring is 1 bar, then you wont be able to get the wastegate to open lower than 1 bar. boost creep is caused from an overflow, that is above the capacity of the wastegate. porting allows more air to flow through the wastegate freely. correct?
  10. if you decide on an MX5, im breaking my old one so I have plenty of spares! inc welded diff, 4 point cage, 2 engines... lol
  11. from what I understand, a controller will only allow more boost than the actuator will allow, unless I can get a lower spring rated actuator than stock, the only way to solve the issue is to port the wastegate, restrict air flow, install an external wastegate or install an aftermarket management system that will allow for more boost. the aftermarket system wont stop boost creep, but will allow for sufficient fuelling and prevent cut. That's what I understand aout it, but I may be wrong?
  12. Even on the stock actuator, it's hitting boost cut! So actuator opens at 8.5psi (I think?) and fuel cut is at 13psi? Is it worth porting the waste gate? I should be getting a blitz ECU this weekend and an aftermarket manifold... But I'm still stuck with the stock waste gate....
  13. Hmmmmmmm.... Bypassed the EBC, with a stock actuator, decat, air filter relocated to front bumper, and standard inter cooler I'm hitting fuel cut :/ is this due to boost creep? I'm really struggling now!
  14. I might be interested, ill see how much more I need to spend to get mine running properly, but suspension is next on the list as mine bottomed out last night at the bottom of a hill... really soft and spongy for some reason :/
  15. the FCD is set to the normal position as I don't have any fuelling mods as of yet, and don't fancy leaning it out!
  16. All sorted with a pack of washers from B&Q! cheers guys!
  17. springs are looking a little crusty! would you sell the shocks alone? lol
  18. The FCD is wired up but not in use at the moment! Nice to meet you too Liam, cheers for taking me out in your beast, was awesome! I managed to fit the standard actuator and it still hit cut, so looks like I'm going to need to port the waste gate! Is there any other ways of preventing cut? I have the greddy ebc set at 10 psi but it still seems to go way over! So I'm guessing its creep? It has a front mounted filter and stainless straight through... Nice to meet you as well man!
  19. Picked up some shiny bits off tatep82 last night, fitting today! To do today: Cusco lower arm Pillar mount and gauge Greddy EBC Parts required - I am willing to collect today with cash: Standard Actuator FMIC with piping Aftermarket leads and plugs Glanza driveshafts in good condition I can't use paypal at the moment so cash on collection is required! Cheers, Nath
  20. Yup just a washer! Used the stock one on the bottom and whacked a fresh b&q special up top! £2.58 for a pack of ten lol
  21. Dude... I've got a spare 4efte Glanza ecu :/ you should have said! Lol
  22. Welcome! More info about your starlet?
  23. Productive day today! Fixed the misfire, fixed the suspension (was washer missing!) and fitted a hks fcd... Just got to sort a few more bits and I'll be happy! Pic of the cause of misfire - I'd love to know where the rest has gone :/ Cheers, Nathan
