  1. The standard gt/glanza strut brace is held on by two nuts each side (total of 4). Aftermarket will usually be four each side (total of 8)

You do not have to jack up or secure any other parts of your car, you can do this simple task with just your bonnet open.

You bolt down one side semi loosely so that when you go to fit the other side you can maneuver/align the brace so that you can get the threads into the nut holes.

You then secure the other two nuts. The fuel filter will defo be in your way, to get it to budge loosen its bracket or like a method mentioned above.

The brace will also be a little tight against the standard airbox but will fit. Very effective and cheap handling mod. Just dont get too overconfident

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks mate...spot on :p

  2. Looks clean enuf mate have you got any plans for it?

Yeah, it's only got 60,000kms.....pics don't do it justice really....very clean car.

    heyy welcome!

looks great, just need to get another front bumper in white, or maybe a glanza front?

    Anup

Plans for it are Remix front bumper , glanza rear bumper.....maybe glanza sideskirts but these have to be modified because it's a 5dr

Performance mods....nothing much strut braces basically

    That really is basic

It's the basicest (if that word even exists lol) starlet in the world ;)

  3. So I have been signed up to this forum for quite a while, but never got round to taking seom decent pics of my EP.

It is 100% standard and still with steel wheels.

    Some specifications:

    Engine - 2E

    Gearbox - 4spd (1,2,3,4 + R)

    Extras - None

    Modifications done up till now:

    Glanza Spoiler

    Sound system

    14" alloys

    TRD tyre valves

    Stickers

    TRD Gear knob

  4. I have driven EP91's with both the 4 spoke and later 3 spoke steering wheels, and the early EP91 4 spoke steering wheel feels alot better. I'd suggest going for one of those if you can't get one off a different model, but all Toyota steering wheels look very very similar (either 3 or 4 spoke, for example the Previa steering wheel is just a larger version of the Starlet 4 spoke, even the Supra has the simple 3 spoke design).

Oh and the EP82 GT wheels feel "thinner" than EP91 wheels.

Mine is a 2 spoke wheel ....will get a pic up in 5mins

  5. Get a V steering wheel. They feel a lot better then n/a ones imo.

The Glanza steering is not really the one I would want to go for. Most starlets here were imported (2nd hand) from Japan and for some reason or another have very similar ones. Mine is different (similar to the pic in link below - pic off google).

  6. Hi again

I really have to start a thread about my ep. Anyway, I am thinking of changing my steering wheel. I don't really like teh after market ones as I think they don't give that OEM feel. Is it possible to fit yaris sport steering wheels (or from other toyota models). If it is possible does one have to make modifications or is it simply a straight swap? My car is a 1998 Ep91 n/a without airbag.

  7. When i took mine off i didnt have to remove the plastic, the Gear Gaiter should pop off as mine did, i pushed mine down in a corner and jobs a good one. Hope that helps a little.

    Thanks mate...will keep you updated

  8. hi i have recently got my glanza i didnt come with a cdplayer, when i got it i was told that the wiring for the cdplater etc was still there so i have a headunit that i got for xmas and is in the car and works, only problem is that at some point before i got it the front speakers were removed and so was the wiring for the speakers so now i have a headunit thats in and i got a pair of speakers but dont know where the speakers should be wired to in the car if any one could post a pic of there speakers wiring so i can see where it should go to it would be alot of help

When I got my car I only had 2 speakers at the back and so had to do the same job. Very easy to do, only a 10mins job. Just wire up the speakers as per diagram provided by manufacturer, then take out the headunit, the wires have to go into the iso connector. This is 99.99% of the times labelled. If not it is colour coded.

    Taking out the headunit:

You have to take out the surround part of the dash. This is done by taking out two screws which are easily accessible if you look at it from underneath.

  9. Hey All,

I've recent got an Ep91 starlet in August for my first car and i'm currently doing it up with my step-dad as a project. We have big plans for performance and visuals, with rims shipped in and just fitted on the car which look great. We want to paint the car a certain colour, but we need a kit first. Are there any decent kits for the Ep91 that I can find pretty easily? I know some Glanza kits will need some work, which ones are the closest fit? I'm pretty determined to get a whole glanza front end going with lights, hood and front bumper but I need to know which year to look around for.

Hopefully you can help me out. The australian forums are too dead haha

    Cheers!

Glanza spoiler/tailgate and rear bumper fit without any modification. Glanza bonnet, headlights and bumper need to changed done all at once. Almost any part designed for glanza will fit starlet.

What engine does your ep91 have? Is it the fuel injected 4efe or the carburator 2e?
