Now denz, twice in the last two days I've had a strange phone call from someone claiming to be from Sky TV telling me that the warranty on my Sky + box has expired, that it is £60 for the year to renew, they have our surname and address, and are asking for immediate payment or we could incur callout charges of up to £120 should the box go funky. so, the first time i said, "aye fair enough, can u just add it onto the monthly bill then please mate" to which he replied "no sir, it has to be a credit or debit card payment", i asked "why", he just said "its a different payment sir, do u want to pay by credit or debit card". now, at this point i got rather suspicious. Name and address he can get from the phone book, having a sky + box, well, im sure theres all sorts of ways to know that, but it was the insistance that i pay there and then by card that threw me off. and he wasnt too amused when i told him nah i'd rather risk it cheers mate if u cant add it onto my bill. thinking back now, i wish i'd asked him what my account number was, that would have thrown the prick, but ye, same call twice in two days from some foreign guy (normally i get a scottish person when i ring sky, and I've never had them ring me before). i just find this rather suspect tbh, esp the part about not being able to add the charge onto my existing account, that must be bollox or how could they charge for changes to accounts!!! both times they were demanding immediate payment, fuck giving my card details down a phone to some prick who i cant prove is from sky! so, does anyone work for a Sky call centre or has anyone had a similar call??? Phil.

good things come to those who wait. get the NCBs built up on the 106, use it to bomb about uni as your every day shitter. then when your finished uni and have some nice NCBs, get rid of the 106 and get a starbo! long way to do it but brings the NCBs up and insurance down, meaning it wont cripple u to insure it when the time comes! Phil.

I was sitting in the marquee, minding my own bee's wax, and this rather large shaven headed dude comes bouncing in with a big grin on his face, looks straight at me and says in his sexual Manc accent "PHIL???!!!!!?????!!!!!!?????!!!!!" and then brings in the man love!!!!! followed by "I fuckin knew u were coming, i knew it, i knew it man, i knew it!!!!!!!!!!!". pure class! sorry i had to mislead u on msn before hand dude, but i think it made it more fun! it was a special moment buddy! and a total pleasure to meet u! Phil.

so, most epic weekend evar?? errr, that'd be a big old yes!!!! where to start then? First and foremost, Rob and Amy, I cant thank u guys enough for everything. for planning the whole event, for sorting out every little detail that needed addressed, the effort and time and commitment, for putting me up and feeding me and driving me around, and for helping plan the big old surprise visit! was so much lulz!!!! there is something that I, as a member, an Admin, and a mate need to say now to all of you who attended JAE 2010... I am so damn proud of each and every single one of you. You have no idea. Not only did you all represent UKSC to the highest of standards for the duration of the event, but everyone got along with everyone else. You made sure that no one was left out, you had banter with each and every person who attended, and it was that consideration to those who perhaps didnt know very many people there that makes me proud of every one of you. So, from myself, thank-you guys. It was you lot that made my weekend the highlight of my year. As members, as mates, and as people i am so proud to know and be associated with all of you. I do apologise for keepin most of u in the dark about my visit, but i needed to get away for a week or so, and I figured it would make things more interesting to just show up. Bluebear's reaction was class. LukEP's reaction was absolutely savage, he kept lookin at me quisically, and eventually rob just said "do u not know who this is?? he'd be an irish badger" and f**k me the look on Luke's face was epic, i'll never forget it, followed by a sexual man hug! awesome!!!! SiCaln my friend, im particularly sorry for leading u astray, but i think your reaction of man love was totally worth it! and bein called a terrorist prick by rick always warms my heart! i'd also like to take a minute to make special mention of, what for me anyway, was my favourite project of the event, and I am post-JAE-ly awarding the "Nanglebadger's Choice EP Award for Awesomeness" in a dedicated thread here. Once again, my thanks to absolutely everyone involved for what was an amazing weekend for myself as a mate, and a very proud weekend as an Admin. Thanks guys and gals! Phil.

I would like to make special mention of one project from JAE 2010 that I have singled out for the "Nanglebadger's Choice Award of EP Awesomeness" After 5 years in the game i thought I'd seen it all, but this was a totally fresh approach that has inspired me in a completely new way. John, aka ro55ifumi, aka Bear Grills, you sir are awarded the "Nanglebadger's Choice Award" for JAE 2010. At a basic level of appreciation, this car is mint. The paint work is minty fresh, the interior looks like it rolled out of the factory two months ago, the wheels are delicious, and the parts that have gone into her as a project are just 100% spot on for the aim of the project, an enjoyable and reliable 200bhp toy that puts a grin on the drivers' face each and every time he gets behind the wheel. But there is a more important aspect to this project, at least from my point of view anyway, and this is what makes it so special for me. John has bought and developed this car as a Father and Son Project, a car that he and his son Jack can work on together and develop together - the son gets what any young male driver wants, a bloody fast car that handles well and will whip the snot out of any other car being driven by someone of 18/19 yrs of age, and the father gets a medium to ensure that, even though the son will get up to the usual antics of any young man, he does so with some sense and responsibility and will choose the need for speed over the need for drugs. A young man wanting a quick car is inevitable, we are all the same, keeping a lid on the more dangerous aspects of young life isn't always so straight forward, so this project's concept is the best idea I've had the pleasure to be talked through in a long time, and having had John explain it to me, and having now explained it to my brother and my parents, this is something that I hope I will be able to adopt should I ever have a family of my own. So John, thank-you for attending JAE and for giving me the pleasure to be able to see and discuss your project in person, I am very grateful to you for allowing me to do so. Please, please keep up the awesome work! "Nanglebadger's Choice Award" for JAE 2010 is awarded to ro55ifumi and his son Jack. Phil.

"gang sign" also commonly known as the Devil Horns, a heavy metal hand gesture of enthusiasm and respect as started by Ronny James Dio who learnt it from his Italian grandmother as a way of warding off evil spirits, he adopted it, metal fans adopted it from there, so ye, Devil Horns. also, yes i have some pics of this, because it was immense, but they are the same as Luke's. Phil.

most of my pics will simply be duplicates of whats already up so no point making the thread stupidly overloaded, but i'll have a look for some of my more interesting ones that may be worth a post. best weekend evar! Phil.

as already mentioned, the speed bumps were a total prick, but thats out of Rob's hands, however maybe u can feed these comments back to John at JAE Rob mate, let him know it was a major problem for all concerned. major sounds will require a bigger generator, which will require money from members, and some method of getting it there, so those logistical issues will need addressed if we want bigger beats. a support vehicle is really going to be needed, someone with access to a van for the thursday and the sunday. Phil.
