Drive shafts tend to make a clicking noise rather than a clunk,is the noise under acceleration? Could be suspension related/bushes,could be a loose battery,engine mount. All should be looked at,check the cv boots for splits if they're split then theres a good chance thats the prob.

As far as i'm aware theres a couple of pins holding the centre section on the boot so they will need filling and spraying,i reckon it would look a bit daft without the middle piece. Well got the bonnet and wing on today after a bit of pissing around dodging the showers. Got new headlights and indicators coming tomorrow so will bang them on then it's turbo changing time!

Oil seals bud,it's like a smoke bomb is in the exhaust when idleing! Dunno how i got home with out being stopped! Funnily enough the hybrid idea had crossed my mind! Well i picked up shauns old GT last night,so now its time to rip it apart and put it back together again. Started to take the damaged panels off you can see in the pics,mostly held on with cable ties so that didn't take long!!
