no mate and getting even closer now. so as you saw i had a slightly used looking racetech td04 kit after speaking with Liam_D about fettling the turbo he said they could clean it all up at work, with the rest of the bay looing so good i didnt want the turbo kit letting it down. So i arranged to drop it down with Liam, Keiran and the res tof the guys at midland turbo. so from this...... To this..... i cant believe how well its come up it looks like new. cant wait to get it fitted, and thanks again to Liam and Keiran for there awesome work. Rob

As above I've been running an old set of muteki for years and there still spot on.

as above the alloy used isnt hard enough and work loose on a regular basis go for steel weights a bit more but the peace of mind is worth it

no mate feel free or it you bare with me a couple of weeks the engine bay should be all back to gether then ill get you some high res shots with the dslr. Its just time and elbow grease mate and fresh paint on anything thats painted

With the turbo in a vice knock the cartridge in so give more room for the circlip then using a punch chisel or screwdriver in the hole of the circlip tap it with a hammer to free it from the recess even try and tap it around to free it then try again. I also found pin nosed players with the ends bent in better. Hth Rob

I ended up using a lump hammer over a mallet and it took a heft wack to split them just be careful as it gets to the end as not to damage the fins. The circlip was a right fooker to remove without the propper pliers to.

It didn't put mine up when I declared it on the sr.

Not sure mate my local one didn't have them in stock, but worth the phone call.

Toyota sell them for about £3

Right had a day off today so cracked on and had a very productive day. First job was the manifold when stripping it down last week on of the bolts sheered off so it was drilled and today I finally got round to attacking it with the stud extractor. Surprisingly the stud extractor snapped so it was time for the back up plan drill and re-tap The 2nd job was finishing swapping the turbo housings over ready to be freshened up. 3rd job, clean and paint the ewg and rotate the lid so the ports line up. 3rd job trial fit, for the turbo and the radiator to check for clearance. Some fit some don't. It took a little turbo surgery to give the optimum clearance. Managed to get the water lines and oil feed cleaned up to and in place, and mount the coil and ignighter to. Just need to extend some wiring. More on Monday. Rob
