just been looking to buy the athena gasket and it says : "Toyota manufacture their head gaskets with some of the water ways blocked off to aid warm up. On high powered engines this can cause problems especially losing water under high boost." Could my head gasket still be ok? im running just under a bar boost? also were is the best place to buy the gasket from?

Hi all i belive my headgassket is blowing after my race at 150mph with the porsche, i have no mayo in oil and the car has never over heated its still driving sweet but after searching wikipedia and speaking to a few mechanics drving on full boost may be lifting the head and that engine/exhasut gases are gettin into my coolant and causing air lock and these are being forced out on boost resulting in me loosing coolant so my question is: should i go for a uprated gasket if so how thick? athena 1.2mm? can some one confirm should i get arp head bolts? have read this is conmon when people

i think im gonna give it a go then, awesome thanks -
I have been keeping an eye on these on ebay, I know there is a few people running these, i know the ct9 ones are a "complete fail" but they do the td04 in mild steel and was wondering if they are ok ? i cant see the point in buying a hybrid ct9 when i believe you could possibly put a tdo4 kit together for around £600. So to anyone whos running one wether stainless or mild steel, 1. whats the fit like? good seal no blowing? i remember reading something about the decat pipe not fitting correctly with the lamda sensor 2. do they crack lol 3. anything else you can think of sorry fo
-
yep will be going back to top mount and when sort my money will be aiming to go for a low lag td04 top mount set up and will prob get the pipe routing done by cpl racing
-
i got a cj performance intercooler which is almost the same as hdi i couldn see a way in hell of making it fit so i just borrowed a friends cut out bumper but im going back to the top mount soon and i tell you what i cant wait
-
i did the same as you mate with cleaning there will be water in the plugs or degreasant it will run like a bag of poop if there is degreasant in there so you need to clean out inside do a google search and you should find what you need to do my cleared up after few days if you have water inside i read it can rust and make changing plugs in the future a pain so try and dry it out
