  2. for them all to go down together your looking into a body control fuse box for module, i sounds like wiring harness fault to the main fuse box. check for power to the fuses, if its there go onward to the wiring to the modules, motors lights ect, if not trace it back to the main power distribution when checking the fuses did you use a multimeter or just visually checking because some times its hard to see if it breaks
  3. best off swaping all four as the firing wont be balanced it will be more effective on the 2 new ones while the old ones will not be. it will cause a unbalanced running and it the old plugs are that worn there will be excessivly un burnt fuel sat on the piston/valves. with the heat it might be clearing that fuel.
  4. it will be the inner or outer cv mate, best of just getting a new shaft or one from a breakers yard
  5. it is sounding like that it is a fault cheers for ythe help guys, need a clutch now soon as i roll on boosst it seams to be revving up high reallly fast, anybody know of a good replacement clutch
  6. about a month when forging these are the con rods needed aswell, im beginning to this ive a boost leak or actuator fault it just doesnt feel like im running that boost
  7. doncaster s.yorkshire, ive got a 3 bar map sensor,is there any signs of the engine going to fail on these or is it just a cough and a bang cheers
  8. i dont know wether its possible, i think i minght have a actuator fault to, ive been speaking to the guy who built the car and he says that the 2 inch intercooler pipes wont help. it doesnt feel like im running that boost, i wanna have a go in a starlet with the same amount of power/boost to compare
  9. im running a ct9, a front mount intercooler and a motec and some supporting mods, 3 map sensor etc... on the last mapping session i was running 1.4bar boost and had the fuel turned up, i want the car to be reliable at this power what do you recommend i uprate. also what spark plugs do you recommend i run at this minute. whats the most power some one has drawn out of a 4e-fte and how????

  13. it got mapped on the road with a motec, what bhp should it be kicking out at 1 bar, its been decated already 2.5" straight through
  14. cheers guys yeah its the mk 2 yaris i think on a 1999 plate, anybody got any idea on the next stage on engine mods to take, think im gonna strip the interior to suit the car, heard alot about the mani fold being restrictive on some clyinders
  15. hi guys I've got a yaris running a 4e-fte lump with a motec, 2.5" straight through pipe, bigger induction filter and a front mount intercooler and just been mapped with 22 degree charge air temp, i recently raced another starlet with a different exhaust manifold and a upgrade on the air induction and it beat me quite well, the engine came out of a ep82, im just woundering is there a difference in power output from the two models as this was a ep91? or is it just due to the age of the engine, or has anyone got any ideas on maybe checks i can do that might possibly lead to discovering the fault, or should i have started running lower heat rating spark plugs by now???? cheers guys
  16. cheers guys, just some people obviously dont know what theyre on about, thanks for putting me straight Asfar as manis go do you recomend a manufacture? The front mounts going to be difficult on the yaris as the rad has to be moved and a renault 5 gt custom intercooler has to be installed at a wacking cost and do you know of a ball bearing turbo that does create the massive lag im hearing about?
  17. im going to the effort because at the minute the motec is all i can afford with paying for it all to be put in to a yaris, these cars run 133bhp from standard, and ive seen them with only the breathing system modified doing170bhp, i might be wrong???
  18. not at all theres only two things that can happen it hold up til you repair it, or the blades will snap off and cause big problems
  19. might be a stupid question but... its time to get mapped soon from dave rowe, does anyone know what sort of figure im looking at on a standard starlet block and turbo with just a 2.5 inch straight through on a m4 motec ???
  20. check for slight leaks in the boost pipe, i know it sounds daft but the smallest hole can cause a noise, but other than that the bronze bush bearings in the stock turbos do fault regularly due to heat, that whould cause excessive noise
  21. Sorry bud, sorted it out now just ordered a switch n plug from Fensport, found it was going to be easyier that way
  22. ive just found a sensor from fensport, for a motec have you ever used one, having trouble finding a auto throttle body

  24. what will i nedd the auto throttble body for is it for size or the sensor mounting? And mine is silver with bronze ultralites the engines in it just small issues like the sensors and plugs

Morning, Im in the final stages of coverting my yaris to a 1.3 turbo, im running a m4 motec and having trouble with the throttle position sensor not being copatible with the motec with it being a on/off switch. Does anyone having any advice on i know sensor that i can use and solve this headache cheers dan
