About the clunk noise it could be the engine mount. The gear changing issue is a regular fault in Starlets! It was happening to my brothers, hes changed the oil but still the same unfortunately.

Hmm i found sanding them easier then using stripper Well my cousin the lazy bugger hasnt been round to collect the wheels so i think im just gonna have to bloody sand them all! Feck it, i'll just charge him for that!!

Got one stripped and primed. Taken ages to get it perfectly smooth when i was taking the paint off though so i'm going to hopefully get my cousin to take them down for shot blasting tomorrow!

That exhaust looks perfect. Nice filter piping too i bet its sucking in some real cold air from down there somewhere!! Maybe some red HT leads would be a nice touch..
