as above get it all stripped out so you can see it all mate, might even be an idea to take the cambelt off and have a good feel and spin of the tensioners, my last shit box astra stared making a wierd noise from the tensioners and 2 days later it shit itself ond the cambelt fell off and off to the scrappys it went!

right guys il get this organised, what dates are we looking at then? start to middle of next month to give people chance to get off work ect, so sunday 14th or sunday 21st guys? as for the location that will have to be for one of you local blackpool lads to put up as i dont live there so dont know, but make sure it has a decent postcode that satnav can find.

mine does this every now and again, if it was headgasket wouldnt there be milky oily shit on the oil cap?

cheers 4the reply guys, got some new calipers yest and get my new cables 2moz, wil try change the cables 1st and if it is them thats at fault then il make a call 2the exhaust guy because im pretty sure its hapend because of him heating the exhaust.

right guys, my rear calipers have been fine since i changed them along with new handbrake cables, pads and discs just over a year ago, use my handbrake everyday and its never stuck on once since i changed them. got my exhaust repaired yest and when i went to set off after paying,and my handbrake was stuck on, after 5mins of drivng they slowly released. when i got home i had a look and its the handbrake that isnt releasing, ive taken them apart, cleaned and re-greased everything, sliders are working fine and the main piston pushes back in no problems. here are the photos handbrake off handbrake on handbrake off and wheel wont spin if i pull the cable back with grips it reased the hanbrake and wheel spins again. took it for a spin without using the handbrake and the calipers dont stick on when useing the foot brake. its the same with both sides and i just cannot believe that both calipers can mess up at the same time after having no problems with them! and its gorgeous weather! then last night whist lieing awake thinking about it a remembered the exhaust guy said he heated my exhaust up (whilst on the car) so he could pull it over abit and back into the center of the tunnel, and guess what! the handbrake cables run above the exhaust. so i had a look and there no sign of burning on the cables but could it be that whilst he heated the exhaust he heated the cable aswel and shrunk them causing them to not release fully? ive had a play adjusting them but with no look. geting some "working"(hopefully) rear calipers today so will try them and then get some more cables tomorrow. but was just a thought, what you gurus reckon?

luke and steve have beat me to it!lol, it is your exhaust mate, couldnt sleep last night thinking bout mi car(sad i know) and then i started thinking bout this!lol here is my wepr kit and here is the standard exhaust, bent not straight. it would be bout £100 tops to get your exhaust modified mate, i just had my exhaust tweeked abit to sit better and a new flexi and it was £110.

yea just been reading it mate, its crap when you have everything planned out in your head and not 1 thing goes to plan!

cheers john, ive sent them an e-mail just have to wait and see, also found a set off a glanza down in stoke so might have to go get them tomorrow but its a gamble wether there in working order or not. this will be my 3rd set of rear calipers

not fancy the whole car?

pricks is an under statment, and im getting really sick of all the little shity problems they have. trying to find rear calipers is near impossible now adays and new 1s are about £220 each, id rather cut my losses and sell it or break it than spend £500 on rear calipers.

well the piece of shit strikes again! 1week before japfest2! took the car to the rolling road day last week without a problem, got in it sunday and the exhaust was blowing like made, crawled underneath to find the flexi had split, so larl bit of an angry face but got it booked in this morning to get a new flexi welded in, on the way there my temp gauge started being realy erattic it flew into the red whilst i was driving then shot back down before i even had chance to pull over, then it did it again so i pulled over turned it off and hoped out, i felt the radiator and it was hardly hot, got back in turned it on and it was on half again! theres no way it can heat up and down that quick so i think its just a dodgy temp sensor but carnt be sure till i get a new 1! , so somthing else to buy. got it to the exhaust spot and whilst he had the exhaust chopped for the flexi i got him to extend it slightly so the rear tip sat just out the livesports rear as it alway sat under it as it was designed for a standard bumper, so that was £110! then i pulled it out of the garage and parked it on a slight hill while i went to pay, got back in let the handbrake off and guess what!! it siezed on! ;) i carnt believe it! the calipers have been fine never had a issue with these 1s and all of a sudden there both stuck on!!! had a play with them and all thats happening is the handbrake isnt quite re-coiling on the spring all the way, if use a pair of pliers and pull it the remaing 5mm on the caliper they unsieze. but mot is due on the 22nd. so im totally fed up with it, japfest 2 tracktime is out the window and so is just getting it thier i think. rant over and maybe my 5year relationship with the car aswel.
