I asked Iddy mate he can't get them
-
Nice job @ Jamie5414 - I had one of them up here before it was a crazy Starlet. It was a white over grey 4wd ep95 with big grey mouldings from factory. The spare wheel was mounted on the bootlid and used to open out sideways like a jeep. It was a mental thing! Apparently there are quite a few of them in Australia.

As above. Must have the 98/99 black/chrome housing not the grey 96/97 ones. All mounting points must be sound. Cash waiting!

I have both here mate pm me

Well what a day! Only got back from the shed very late last night but after a day of headaches, bleeding knuckles, frustration, several tantrums, "why won't it fit" and around 400 cigarettes later the engine is in and running! It was an absolute pig of a job but it's in now so happy days. It took a lot longer than expected because I basically completely lost the plot with the car when we were putting it back together! (It's dangerous having a well stocked shed full of rare performance parts when you are rebuilding a car!) ha I started off by cleaning the engine bay before the new engine went in... New OEM timing belt kit, water pump, ancillary belts etc fitted with new clear timing belt cover. All timing set to a tee... The bottom timing belt cover was damaged so this was replaced with a mint one also... I decided that while I was at it I would try the ZEP lightweight flywheel in her whilst the gearbox was off. The flywheel guard had to be changed anyway. The weight difference between the ZEP flywheel and the standard flywheel was very noticeable. New flywheel guard, ZEP lightweight flywheel and new clutch kit all bolted up... I had a brand new engine polybush kit here so while we were at it that was fitted also. The mounts were polished before fitting. The front gearbox mount and engine mount were okay but to do but the rear gearbox mount was a little pig! After over an hour of thumping it with a hammer and chisel and cutting away with a hacksaw the old mount was out and replaced with a new polybushed version. I just got in this mint Tongs hybrid CT9 Turbo. The turbo is in excellent condition no shaft play, no wet seals and what's more the wastegate is absolutely mint as you can see below This was matched with the Zisco CT9 manifold which I really like! We made some custom Intercooler piping with matching blue hosing so the HKS Dumpvalve was visible just behind the Tom's grill when fitted. However the flange for the hotpipe wouldn't fit with the Zisco manifold so we had to notch the hotpipe flange slightly so it would fit with the new manifold. This is how it sits now. The Intercooler piping is visible behind the grill. The current rad doesn't sit great so I am going to replace it with a brand new one with a slimline fan and nice mounting kit. It rang like shit with the Magnecore leads on but I replaced them with standard leads to check and it ran perfect. The ICV was sticking causing it to run very lumpy so this was also replaced. There's a few small bits to tidy up today and then it's time to re-fit the bumper, grill and bonnet. More updates soon! Browner

Well guys I've been mental busy with Starlets and parts the past few weeks so finally got time to get this sorted in good time for Japfest. I blew the engine before Christmas doing rings (it died happy!) Can't understand it really the engine never overheated and was full of oil when it went. The bottom end started knocking slightly. I think it was all the oil going to one side of the sump whilst doing rings so I think a baffled sump is in order. After looking quite a while I finally got my hands on a very good replacement engine with very good compression across all four cylinders. With great difficulty the car was eventually on the ramp ready for it's new heart transplant. The low kit, especially the sideskirts are a pain to get on to a ramp without damaging them. She's ready for the off... A good friend of mine car over and took the engine out with me... The dead 4efte... I'm not taking any chances with one and want it to be right so I went and got: Brand New Genuine Toyota Oil Pump Brand New Genuine Toyota Water Pump Brand New Genuine Toyota Timing Belt Brand New Genuine Toyota Crankshaft Oil Seals Brand New Genuine Toyota Oil Filter Genuine Toyota Red Coolant 10w40 Oil New Blue Magnetic Sump Bung Whilst the engine is out I am going to fit a complete blue engine hose kit. I am also fitting a blue adjustable cam gear and brand new clear timing belt cover. I picked up this cool Zisco manifold today which is almost new... I also picked up a brand new clutch kit. I opted for an OE spec clutch again as it was lovely to drive with and easier to control when doing rings than a jumpy paddle clutch. Whilst I have the box apart I was thinking of fitting a ZEP Racing lightweight flywheel but I am worried it might make the car too revvy. I will decide on this in the morning when the engine is going back together. I also have a Tongs hybrid CT9 turbo here which I think I will fit also. More updates and more pictures tomorrow as work progresses. Regards, Conor.

Yeah kavan-k I will get pics of it tomorrow. I'm going to convert it into a van with a Glanza kit on it would be good for advertising

@ maddox710 - It started when I was 17. A lot of people in my area drove Starlets of some description and I always wanted one. i saved up all my money and bought a 96 Glanza V and began tuning it. I later sold that and bought my current 99 Glanza. I was sick of driving the length and breadth of the country looking for parts, often to find that when I got there the parts were broken or damaged. I bought another Glanza and took a lot of parts off it for my own current Glanza and sold a few bits off it and it just grew from there. I always loved "the hunt" for rare and elusive parts. Following up on old stories of cars hidden away in sheds, small tip offs, snippets of information often gleaned from interrogating someone about the whereabouts of certain cars or parts. Most of the time these "leads" materialize into absolutely nothing but occasionally they result in a cracking car at the end of it. I love rare Starlet parts. The rarer the better. I like being different from everyone else and like to stick out with the work I do. It hasn't been easy but over the years I have built up a nice collection of rare Starlets... Not including the Starlets I have for sale or for breaking, my own collection currently consists of: -1988 White EP70 - Complete 1.5 5efe conversion, GT Turbo Interior, EP71 turbo bonnet etc -1987 White EP71 Turbo S - Super rare 5 door model - factory original condition - unmodified - thought to be the only one of its kind in Ireland & UK -1988 White EP71 Turbo S - 3 door model - factory original condition - unmodified -1991 White MK1 GT Turbo - Rare sunroof model - High Spec -1992 Red EP85 - Currently being built as a fully forged 1.5 Tom's style replica of the Tom's GT - Race use only -1993 Gunmetal Grey EP85 Rear Wheel Drive - full RWD 4efte conversion -1995 Silver Quadlight GT Turbo - Completely mint factory original car with 72,000kms - totally unmodified - showroom condition - rare sunroof model -1999 EP91 Glanza V Turbo - Fully forged 1.5 Engine - Massive spec currently running 383bhp -1995 Black GT Turbo - Full 1.5 Diesel conversion - Very rare -1997 EP91 - Genuine 1.5 TDI - original Turbo Diesel from factory Also have an 84 red over black UK spec AE86 RWD Corolla and an 85 white AE86 too

@ kavan-k - yeah I'm big into the twincams I've had a good few. I've two coupes at the minute the white one and the fully restored red over black. Only recently sold a black UK spec AE86 and an Australian 8a9 blue coupe aswel @ Manny - I've different plans for different cars its just hard to get time to do any of my own cars at the minute because we are so busy. Main things going on at the minute is work on the RWD GT Turbo for Japfest and get the 383bhp Glanza running right again. Whenever I get a chance I try and put a bit more back together on the red Tom's EP85 Starlet I'm building for drag racing. A lot of the older cars stay in the shed over the wintry months until the good weather comes in again. I enjoy them all each in their own way. @ Hair - the standard silver GT isn't for sale it's like a model. Only one owner since import with only 72,000 genuine kilometres on it. The car is spotless and is loaded with optional extras. I would hazard a guess that it's probably one of the cleanest and most original factory spec EP82's left in the country. @ Azz - Drop over soon for a tour mate ;)

Well guys the beast is officially out of retirement! The car has been lying up a very long time so got a new battery for the car today and away she went first tip of the key. I brought it for a drive to try and free up the brakes and blow the cobwebs off her. Quite a few niggly problems from sitting up so long but going to get stuck in this weekend and get her done. Eventually got her in and up on the ramp with the very low JAM sideskirts... Today I fitted a 6000k H3C HID kit to the foglights to match the 6000k HID's in the headlights. I also fitted LED sidelight bulbs to match and LED reverse light bulbs. The brake discs were choked with rust and even after a good drive the brakes were still quite poor. I took off the wheels and rubbed down the discs with rough emory paper and replaced a broken split pin in the passenger side caliper. (Thanks Keri @ WMS by the way) I done a full fluid check and changed the oil with fresh Titan Pro S. A fresh G-Reddy oil filter replaced the old one and a new magnetic sump bung aswel. I drained the cooling system and replaced it with fresh coolant. I have a brand new 24mm Whiteline front anti roll bar and Polybushed droplinks to replace the TRD anti roll bar currently on her. I have freshly Polybushed wishbones and a new Whiteline anti lift kit to go on also. I started cleaning the underside of the car in preparation for a complete stone chip and underseal treatment this weekend...
