tractor sounding engine after replacing turbo.....
Taggy replied to Starbuck's topic in 4E-FTE Engine Discussions
Yeah tractor sound is defo blowing that happened to me pain in the arse all right! -
Goto court even if your pleading not guilty, if you dont they always give you a steeper fine and more points. If you go in person saying you plead guilty and make it obvious that you are sorry they will be less likely to stiff you with a stick. When you fill out the money forms too just make it look like your skint and you have hardly any spare disposable income, you can get less of a fine then, or opt to pay it weekly/monthly. Looks like those 5 points that come off are going back on then! Good luck mate

So anoying when people do that, hopfully you should get your money back

It makes no difference if you plead guilty or not, at this stage they just want to know who is driving. It will automatically get bounced to the courts as its outside the fixed penalty criteria (i think fixed penalty deals with up to about 85mph in a 70mph zone). If this is on the motorway your going to be looking at a minimum of 5 points, possibly 6 which for new drivers can mean a retest, depends on circumstances! The mitigating circumstances box is for stuff like, if you got banned what hardship it would bring to you or others (Courts do not care if you lose your job) I used the excuse th

Just read through your thread, great work, glad I can say i have joined the EP70 massive lol, well say massive i think there are about 2 of us lol Cant wait to get mine
-
Ai i will as no doubt im gonna get stuck some where along the lines. Looking at the Ep70 build threads it doesnt look we have got many any ep70's here in the uk running big power, I will be looking forward to this. Does anyone else on the forum from the UK run an EP70/1 on a 4efte, would be nice to pick your brain on some aspects of the conversion
-
Ha ha yes Ryan i will make a build thread this time thats not all on 1 page!! I think I am going to finish off the this years shows in my EP82 (spent long enough building it!!), then im gonna start cracking on with the conversion end of September. Car is going to look as standard as possible, but on coilies, 4efte, wms brakes. I'll have to have a chat with Keri to see what he recomends to make them fit as i know these are 13 inch wheels, but doesnt having banded steels make more room? Cant wait to get my hands on the little beast, any one know what the official kerb weight is on these, is i

Yeah its ugly and boxy, everything i want it to be for a sleeper. Never in a million years would you expect to be burned off by this thing ha ha. Turns out my car is the perfect donor car for this. Cant wait to get it going!

I had no plans what so ever to change my EP82 about 4 days ago and was very happy with it, some how i woke up in a time warp and decided i needed a 28 year old car in my life lol, nearly as old as me then!! Here it is My 1E 1.0 Mk2 EP70 Toyota Starlet A mint granny car! http://www.flickr.com/photos/bloke/sets/72157627453619308/ The donor car to make this thing mental (my old ep82 track car) Whats left of her! I am starting to get a bit obsessed over these cars now lol cant be good, i just need to look for the right one to come along, preferably with as little rust as possible, but i guess thats going to be extremely difficult with our wet climate. Here is one though, but i think i can get it cheaper dont you? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Toyota-Starlet-1...=item2312f8842f

The more i look at these tin boxes the more i like them lol, plus they getting pretty rare now so would be an awsome track day car/sleeper. I just need info on the conversion to help me decide if i am going to do it. Not sure how to go about it, either use my Starlet for all the parts i need or have both lol

I have been toying with the idea of buying an EP70 and turning it into a sleeper, love the old skool look and fancy working on one. Got a couple of questions though, i would be doing an engine transplant with the 4e-fte as i have seen this done on other projects. So I know what im letting my self in for, what would it take to do it Does the engine drop straight in on the mounts Is the gearbox the same? Driveshafts? anything else i should consider. How much should i pay for an EP70 and which model should i go for, lighter the better plz Look forward to your comments

Taggy replied to Taggy's topic in EP80/EP82 Progress Blogs
Seems my wishlist for my car now is getting smaller and smaller! Ordered WMS brakes for next week Race fuel tank from Nightspirts car is on its way to me. Hmmm whats left Suppose i better change the ECU, think im gonna get an E-Manage Blue Once thats out the way, my focus is going to go back to weight reduction. Thinking about it I havent removed some metal out of my car in a good few months, think the dash is coming out tonight! -

Ha ha, yeah i was all over him in the wet and doing him in the corners in the dry, although he was doing me on the straights. Car wasnt running as much boost as it should have think it was only making about 0.6bar on the day. Spring is on its last legs in my HKS so wasnt holding boost, I thought i had a boost leak to start, but i have wound in the actuator some more and its holding at 1 bar ok now. Need a new one! Oh i just ordered some WMS brakes and race fuel tank too -
I have bought NightSpirits original race fuel tank he had made, I read all his build thread and still cant believe i have managed to get my hands on it I want to find out how he fitted it, does anyone know where his whole blog is?
-
Ah bummer, hope you get it sorted.
-
Ah good news I seen the link on the website for Sparky , i guess thats you lol What brake did it end up making in the end, must be pritty good running 1.2bar.

That is sick!

Same as mine, has never worked. I had assumed it no longer worked as it had an uprated Walbro pump installed
-
Ai its a no brainer, why bother with a hybrid when you can get a td04 with more power for nothing.
