Just out of interest, were you the guy I was chasing months ago down the road between mareham le fen (Skeg road) and tumby round about (Coningsby) I was in a black SR acting like a twat lol -
I've got the tyres dressed now mate, just not in that pic as I cleaned the outside of the car after I did the wheels, then dressed the tyres about an hour ago. Believe it or not I got it off a right dodgey looking site, which I got linked to from ebay, heres a link £18 delivered, if you click postage as 'P&P arranged through Ebay' eBay page Page it links you to Linked page Here's where the TTE backbox was from, doubt its sold as he said it might be in his garage very recently Click

Bit of an update Today I've had the car jacked up and cleaned the whole underside and arches, shouldn't be a speck of muck anywhere hopefully as I've just spent over 7 hours doing it lol. Cleaned all the wheels and cleaned out the boot, hoovered and given the car a complete going over really. Also pruchased some 12x6 numberplates, not sure if they are legal or not though? If anyone knows could they help me out. Heres some pics Before After Before After Number plates, are they legal? About 64mm height on each letter

I am currently on an apprenticeship where I use lathes and milling machines, its got to that time now where I finished most of my set work so college are happy for us to bring in our own projects any time. So, I am going to have a blast at smoothing a rocker with a milling machine. Going to have a go with a carbide tipped cutter by setting the rocker cover at an angle so the bit that needs milling sits flat. Then just wet and dry it til it looks nice. My local has a starlet breaking so hoping to pick up the rocker cover off it for a few quid to have a blast with. I'll let you know how I get o

Man I love this thread now, im only 20 so havent had as much experienece with different cars but my older brothers have had no end of saxos and 106 gtis. Theyve had to replace axles on the gti and one of the saxos was ran into the ground. After looking at all the work they had to do compared to my starlet hasnt needed nearly as much work apart from its seizing brake caliper. my bro now has a 306 gti6 after couple of civic type r's and a scooby and wants to go back to jap.
-
TBH I have bought this saxo and the more I look into it the more things need replacing. so far I've spent over £200 on a car which I thought I could buy and sell on for a quick buck. But in the end its always worth doing the little bits on it as I know I will make more profit after all the little things have been done. I also just changed the cambelt as there was no cambelt history and its got 72k on the clock so best to be on the safe side. Would never change my starlet for anything french, after you've experienced the reliability of an unmolested jap car, you never want to go back.
-
I think your missing the point here lol. I needed to become a member to get parts for the saxo which I am selling to make money. I dont own it to use it. I still love my SR and am a starlet lover all over so stop ripping me lol
-
TWell I did it, I made myself a member on saxperience as I own the vts lol. Ive had a warm welcome so far with the grand sum of no replies on my newbie post.

Trust me, you have another 40 miles in there when it goes permanently on. My turned over to 40 miles on the mileometer on the red light before I couldn't take the anticipation any longer!

that jordans mint mate. my friends just bought 1. I love the interior as well lol

I've personally never ran out of petrol but all some of my mates are skint 24/7 so run it on red light all the time. They all have this 6th sense though, know exactly how far they can get to get every last drop out of it. let them down a couple of times as they have run out. can't be good for your car or fuel filter dragging through all that shit from the bottom of the tank. They always set their mileometers to 0 when they hit the red. most cars can do 50+ miles in the red
