hi well I've been on here for a little while so I thought I'd better start a build thread! The Frog (its how the cars been known for years) was purchased from my neighbour last year, I'm the fourth owner and I can honestly say, its had a damn hard life!!! lol well the body has anyway! service ways this car has been cherished, being serviced roughly every 3,500 miles, 9 times by toyota, 10 times by independants and the rest of the time by me! engine and running gear is sweet as a nut, every nut and bolt that can be got to has been removed and slipped on a regular basis so they can all come out nice and easy! (excluding the engine based parts!) the body work however is frankly a load of pap!! every panel has door dings, rust on both the rear arches and dents on both, both the front arches are heavily dented, bonnet has multiple dents and the majority of the paint work has fallen off on the near side rear quarter and boot lid! the roof is scratched to hell and the car as a whole is looking very tired, but that is on its way to changing! since purchasing the car I've brought the following: Speedline Alesio 14" wheels and tyres (not seen them on a starlet before!) Pi 40 mm lowering springs front strut brace dimpled and grooved front discs 12" sub and amp (sunk into the spare wheel well on a false floor) new front speakers (which are shite!) lol large rally style driving lamps (recessed them into the front bumper square front plate but the car obviously still looks like a giant took a dump on it!! I've finally decided on a new colour for the body and wheels, ordered the paint, and purchased all the body work prep bits i need, purchased some replacement front wings, brought a set of celica gt4 seats and got some tubing for a DIY rear strut brace, decided not to colour code the side bump strips (one randomly fell off over night! lol) so will be removing them! I will upload some photos this evening to show the crapness of her, this car is my daily runner and so doing anything to her even at weekends can sometimes prove problematic due to needing the car, also I'm married......... this also affects the time I can spend playing with my car!! lol in a months time, this car should be a nice looking motor again, only problem i currently have is i havent got anywhere to paint it, which could prove a problem!! humhar!! anyways, thats it for now! mods, if the project title is a bit much please feel free to change it to a more appropriate heading!

cheers dude, thats what i think to!!

can anyone actually see those links??

http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/ph...e=1&theater this picture shows the removed shock topmount area, on my other shocks there is no foam insert inbetween the top of the strut plate and the pillow mount thing (basically the thing that lloks like black foam in the middle of the picture!) if this is missing from my other shocks, could it cause a light knocking noise whn going over bumps?
-
http://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?stor...e=1&theater hopefully anyone can click on that link and view the boot im talking about, i cANT UPLOAD IT ANYOTHER WAY AT THE MO DUE TO A COMBINATION OF VERY VERY CRAP COMPUTER AND PHOTO TAKEN ON CAMERA PHONE, AND WILL ONLY LET ME up load TO facebook!! gaynESS!! P.S KEYbOARD IS SHIT too"

no im taliking about the rubber boot that covers the whole strut innards, not a bump stop, i'll run and take a photo!!! just dropped the shed on pi springs, true what they say, ther are mighty low!!! lol couldnt get the trolley jack from under the car, had to get the father in law to lift the front end whilst i wiggled it out!!! lol
-
are the ruber boots that sit covering the front shock inner workings (the big boot thing) available to purchase seperately? mine have basically just completely just fallen apart when ive taken them apart to change the springs! being as they sit underneath the spring are they esential (to stop knocking noises's) or do they just sit under the springs as there was no where else to fix them to? any help much appreciated!
-
so did you mesh it in the end? any pics of how it turned out??
-
hi guys, just wondered if anyone else is runing speedline allesio's? what speedlines you all got then?
-
yeah its for my ep91, repainting when i return from my hols in july, just trying to chose between three colours, all green, none standard! lol i take it front and rear windows are both stick in's to then?! lots of prep work to do, last owner was a little more than careless when it came to cleaning the car and not denting her!!
-
just wondered if anyone has removed the rear side windows on their starlet, are they glue in or push fit? do i need to get the old cheese wire out?? lol cheers!
-
hi there, dont want to order clear fronts till i can see the P&P charge, any idea on cost, to uk main land?
-
wow! just read this start to finish car looks the dogs danglies!!

I used to run bike carbs on my GTE Nova, made it all up myself, very easy to put togeather, much cheaper than most mods as bike bits are so cheap, sounded the nuts, but was heavy on fuel and obviously required setting up on a rolling road to get fueling right...... mind you went like a fecking rocket afterwards so worth every penny! lol with regards to bike itb's........ cant comment I'm afraid.... so infact everything I've just said is useless.......... I'll go crawl back under that rock now!!! (side note: Nova's were cool (probably!) when I had one! lol)
-
just my twopence, spend your money now as you see fit, its your's after all, better and faster cars will come in to your life and go also, my last car was an 07 plate focus st3 267.8bhp on the rollers (mountune setup) fun fun fun, and fast as feck....... and now im in a N/A sportif, its only marginally slower (lol) and looks like someone poured brake fluid over most of the body work, but drives mint and is fun to drive and thats what its all about. just get out there, drive your car and have fun! peace!!!
-
i want those clocks!!!!! pppllleeeeaaaassseeeeeee!!!!!!! and also air filter and pipeing!! price?? delivered! cheers
-
ive measured them both across the diameter's and the new springs are huge!! they look like they have come off a lorry or something!!! lol i'll put a picture up later!!! lol, the spring diameter is much larger than the cup they will sit in!!
-
in that case they've sent the wrong springs because these things are massive!!! lol
-
hi there, have just had my lowering springs delivered........ front springs are fooking huge compared to mine!!!! probably 15 - 20mm wider diameter wise, does the glanza have wider front springs? if yes there will be a brand new set of springs for sale imediately!!! FAIL!!!
-
yeah its a bit of a different beast to my previous car, Mountune Focus ST, slightly slower....... lol but we required two cars so got a mondeo wiesel and this little beast for me to hit the streets in!!! i will be sorting the body work in the spring, untill then im just gonna dump it on its arse and get some spacers for the wheels to seat them further out!!! have thrown some spots onto the front bumper slightly recessed (thank you mr jigsaw!) and added an induction kit off my old MR2 SW20 (large filter, sounds like the universe is being sucked into the engine!!) stripped the interior aswell, more to come!!
-
just thought i'd pop in and say hi, i joined a while ago and sort of lurked but thought I'd better say a proper hello!! my car is a 97 N/A sportif in mostly green with some rust/ primer/ undercoat!! 2 previous owners with full toyota history (16 stamps!!!) totaling around £3,500, no expense spared on the running gear, just the body looks like a murder victim!!! lol only 50k miles on the clock, brought it from my next door neighbour for £350, twas a bargain!! lol sourced some 14" alloys off the bay for £70 with 4 good lower profile tyres (lower than the tractor 13"'s that were on it anyway!! lol) im calling it 'project bargain paint/rust cheapo machine'!! anyways, thats enough from me!!!
-
heres my 2 pence, I've had the game for about a week now and all in all, im very dissapointed in it, fact im allready nearly 50% complete on the whole game should tell you alot! not that ive played the game alot, it is obviously just much smaller than gt4! you only get interior views on the premium cars, and the majority of the premium cars you wont ever use as there are no races you need them for! i'll keep playing it mind because its still the best racing game on the ps3, JUST EXPECTED MUCH MUCH BETTER!
