    They have to be balanced. So unless you have proper equipment, then no you can't rebuild them yourself.

    Looks about .9 but i haven't a gapper to measure it properly. Anyway i started it this morning after spacing it and it idled better after first start and stayed around the 800 -1000 range, and letting it run when i got to work it stayed the same. So its sorted it seems. Thanks for the pointers chaps.

    I didn't. From packet to engine..... thought they'd have some preset. Tops are clicked in nicely. I can only think it that, since I had no problems beforehand.
