So after my bad earth incident, I got the car running but last night I had to do a 20 mile journey to get it mot'd and there was thick black smoke out the exhaust all the way and the car wasn't accelerating very well! I'm thinking its something major? Its attending its first show of the year on the back of a trailer

Hallelujah! Result: bad earth or more lack of earth behind inlet! Just seems to be idling slightly high now? Cheers lads!

Replaced fpr and I think one of my injectors isn't seatting right so getting new seals for the set, think the injectors/rail is the problem!

Got so many things to check tomorrow, will see what state the car is in and let you know what's actually happening!

Nope, no airbag light! I have paseo dials so I don't know if that will make a difference? I thought it was weird, it doesn't start doing anything till I turn the key off!

Not that I'm aware of? Doesn't come up on the dials when the electrics are on haha! I'll give that a try tomorrow by the way, shouldn't fuel pump prime when ignitions on? Not when you turn the key off? And how long does it take? Seems like its. Never gonna stop!

Its a sportif! I was in at the ignition the past few days trying to sort my horn/airbag so I've maybe bumped it how would I sort it? On that note, I have a plug with a yellow lead hanging underneath my steering wheel (within the cowl), where does that plug in?

I. Didn't think the car had an immobiliser? Its not central locking so didn't think this was a problem? I've got a spare fpr already lads but thanks for the offers!

Does that connect to the inlet manifold I take it? The lines fine, I don't think its sitting quite flush to the fuel rail due to the rail being powdercoated so will rub that down aswell! Injector seals have just been replaced so I don't think that's the problem as there's no fuel leak? This is bamboozling me like you wouldn't believe!

I'll try putting new fuel in tomorrow! What about the hissing? Sounds like its coming from the first injector on the left and the metal thing on the end of the rail next to it?

Right, so trying to get the car started for first time in months and it. Just won't fire! Turns over fine but when I turn the key back to OFF, its like the fuel pump is priming and there's a hissing coming from the left hand of the fuel rail, sounds like a fuel leak but no fuel leaking? I can't get to the route of the problem and and seriously considering selling up.. Anyone got any advice?

This sorted it now indicators don't work

I thought that but they're new bulbs so it seems unlikely?

So I turned the electrics on in the car for the first time in 8 months to check the lights, everything works bar the headlights? The fuses are all fine and the wiring looks ok too, don't know. What else the problem could be?

Right that's that end sorted, what about the pedal having a ton of play in it? Can I cut the cable or something to tighten it?
