  1. So its fully 4efe other than a map converter and turbo?
  2. I just never seen anybody talk about it etc. needless to say I will not be trying it at all.
  3. Wether its bolted to the block or the boot or the exhaust it still needs continuity along its whole sheilded length lol
  4. The earthing/sheilding around a knock sensor on a starlet IS ABSOLUTELY IMPERATIVE i assure you. whoever says differently hasnt a clue what they are on about. the shielding stops interference/tapping or vibration of the wire going to the ecu and giving an error (ie making the ecu think knocks happening constantly) I promise you I have been through all this agro with knock sensors as I said and I have repaired not only my issue but somebody else's when nobody could figure it out.
  5. No !!! U NEED to source the issue, which in ure case is a connector added in were it shouldnt be from what ure saying. Fix that piece. Doin it your way is a BIG painfull job and needless.
  6. The knock sensor wire goes to the ecu yes.it has a sheilded outer thats earthed somewere down the line.
  7. Theres absolutely no need to go anywere near the ecus wiring. there should be NO extra connectors whatsover, and u can replicate ure own sheilding by using copper wire wrapped round multiple times whilst at the same time being SOLDERED to complete the sheilding earth circuit.
  8. You think how much a hks fcd corrupts the signal.to the point you have to turn up fueling a bar even on setting 11 on fcd. that just shows the map signals not doin much as if it did the fcd would never get away with what it does and how badly it does it
  9. Well thats what I thought but then my sard rrfpr is vacuum operated and nowere near the map vacuum line. people are doing this mod and they recon its working
  10. Just been reading a quote from somebody on toyotanation forum The guy was saying that you can just block of the vacuum to the map sensor to stop the ecu activating fuel cut ? He stated that all the map sensor does is solely JUST to activate the oem led turbo stages and also JUST register fuel cut levels. Is this true ?? And surely the car wouldnt even idle with the map vacuum blocked off ??
  11. Will just be damaged cable/sheild. had the same thing with mine before a few times.just got hold of sheilded cable did the repair and problem solved no probs. also repaired a friends knock sensor wire and went perfect also
  12. Ahh u missed out.sold mine yesterday.
  13. And I dont like big spoilers.dont mean they are shit. every bodys gonna have an opinion I guess.not that its a problem.lol
  14. Exactly, I have nothing other than an inch of rubber pipe just popping out of the two cam cover holes. any oil coming out of them indicates a piston is down on compression. Catch cans do NOTHING.
  15. I think they are a bloody goid idea, at worst to have an extinguisher in the car. was driving along m25 with the mrs the other day and saw a 02 reg high end Mercedes whole engine bay on fire.it was horrific, imagine a poor starlet being in that situation.....would bring a tear to ones eye. for the sake of 20 quid I have bought one just because I saw that, could potentially save ure vehicle
  16. I genuinely would have another toyo sports one in mild steel anyday.cant fault them, as above get them braced, thats what kills a "cheap mani" The vibration ,heat etc etc and on top of that a 7 kilo weight pulling down also.its obviously gonna give.all mine have been braced one way or another and guess what....no issue
  17. Hmm thats alot. Generally a dyno place will charge circa £70 for a few dyno runs and a print out.maybe a tiny bit of tinkering inbetween. I would say thats very very expensive myself
  18. Yeah that covers the best I have seen by a long way.very tempted by it
  19. Mild steel toyo sports dude ! :-D Been used on my daily since march and been faultless, as above no extra welds or problems
  20. Okies.best of luck with sale.sure it wont be around long !!
