  1. So it's end-game is it James/Tara..... Not surprised tbh. Another excuse, taking no responsibility for what has transpired at all. Blaming those who put in claims is outrageous. THEY alone are responsible for people covering their own backs with Paypal claims due to the complete lack of updates/customer service, call it what you will. From the moment he and Tara stopped corresponding this has been nothing but a ticking timebomb of a disaster in the making. They only had to keep people informed, and explain the reasons why despite the non-payment of refunds to people for the other parts the coilies would still be ok. A screen print of the order from DGR would have sufficed, as well as sorting out exchanges and refunds for those with long-standing issues. As Idrees said, as traders CJP have handled this totally the wrong way. You can't sort things out with silence. End of story. God help anyone who gets the coilovers and has a fault that needs sorting. Interestingly my Paypal claim went straight through to a claim, skipping the trader correspondance bit. It's clear Paypal are already on the case and expecting these claims to have to be repaid by them without bothering with trader correspondance.
  2. IT network technician for Caterpillar
  3. I did that Dean. I started to get the heebies about all this from the time I saw the post about CJP not trading until further notice. I got no reply from DGR.
  4. Trouble is Ryan in a week and a half's time EVERYONE who paid in this group buy will be over the 45 day Paypal claim back time limit. And let's be honest, what with all the problems that have come to light + the 100% unacceptable lack of comms from anyone from CJP the net result is that no-one can have any confidence that the collies will either arrive or be complete as per the chap whose got a faulty set needing attention. They were due in on 31st March, so why did it take so long to place the order? Even then with James saying in a post on the group buy thread that it was done on the 10th March they really should have been with us next week at the latest, as that is still allowing 4 + weeks, not 'maybe' off the ship and in customs in another 1 week + with another who knows how long before we have them delivered.. That's simply too late to risk our money under the circumstances of what is going on with CJP (as little as we do actually know...) I've stuck up for Tara in previous posts, but even I as an old dude with perhaps more dosh than some of the youngsters on here can't risk losing £460 as I paid on Paypal with debit card. I feel really sorry for the youngsters who may have lost what is to them a huge amount of money. Sorry, but in the interests of self preservation i'm out. A Paypal claim is going in. Nobody from CJP can be surprised that people are requesting their money back before it is too late.
  5. I'm sooooo wownely...
  6. The best UK forum IMO is BMWLAND. There is a German based guy on there who I swear knows EVERYTHING about BM's. He's just a brainac for knowledge. I'm sure all forums have these type people, but quite why a German is on a UK forum heaven knows. The BMW Performance range is the official aftermarket mechanical and cosmetic kit that BMW make for a whole range of cars - engine upgrades, suspension, wheels, carbon stuff you name it. It's kind of like the forerunner of the new M-Performance sub-brand in so much as they can take a car (say a 135i) and by the time you've put all the gear on you have something as close to an M as you can get without actually having one. BMW have now sort of made that official and convenient with the M Performance car range (like the awesome M135i) which take you a step above the M-Sport but one rung below a bonafide M. Seems like they are changing this range of aftermarket gear, there is a new range called M Performance as well as the old range just called Performance. Maybe they are running down the old range, but it's still up on the website for the moment, but maybe need to get in quick before they retire the range of bits for your model of 3 Series. Link to all the bits for the last gen 3 Coupe: http://www.bmw.co.uk/en/topics/owners/accessories.html#eyJhc19xIjoiaW5tZXRhOnByb2R1Y3RDYXRlZ29yeSUzRE1hbnVmYWN0dXJlckFjY2Vzc29yeUNhdGVnb3J5MiBpbm1ldGE6YXZhaWxhYmxlRm9yTW9kZWxTZXJpZXMlM0RCTVclMjUyMDMlMjUyMFNlcmllcyUyNTIwQ291cCVDMyVBOSJ9 Link to the engine kit: http://www.bmw.co.uk/en/topics/owners/accessories/accessoryDetail.accessoryId=8058.html#eyJhc19xIjoiaW5tZXRhOnByb2R1Y3RDYXRlZ29yeSUzRE1hbnVmYWN0dXJlckFjY2Vzc29yeUNhdGVnb3J5MiIsImFzX29xIjoiaW5tZXRhOnByb2R1Y3RHcm91cHMlM0RNYW51ZmFjdHVyZXJBY2Nlc3NvcnlQcm9kdWN0R3JvdXAyMjUifQ== The engine kit for the single turbo 2ltr D (120D/320D) is pretty good in so much as you get the new ECU + an extra cooling fan and other hardware to help cooling. Being a properly engineered kit specific to the engine makes it a safer bet than a backstreet modded ECU merchant. The only weird thing I have been told is that an extended warranty is invalid if fitted. Which is bonkers, but then it's not the only time that BMW policy makes no sense. For example, BMW UK sponsor and subsidise novice track days through the official BMW UK club. But if you take your car on one of these track days (including M's) again the warranty is invalidated. Makes no sense does it? But it is true. BMW Motorad (bikes) do the same sort of track days, and owners who participate can do so without their warranties becoming void.....
  7. Yeah, same engine in my Z4M. My MPG gauge comically says it's averaging 24
  8. Nice BM mate. Can't beat a 320D. Check out the BMW Performance engine kit for the 320 - adds a fair anout of extra grunt without huting MPG much and (by BMW standards) is not too expensive. I quite fancy an Alpina D3 Bi-Turbo myself. + Another forum BM and Starlet owning member like me. Maybe your mates will think that's a mad combo like mine do, but I don't care. I love them both for entirely different reasons.
  9. +1 for me today. Yes it is cheap as chips - a lot cheaper than the Beemer forum I also belong too anyway
  10. Googling around for a Lincolnshire company/depot and I'm hearing better things about 'Longlife' exhausts. May try them for a standard replacement.
  11. Like everyone else here I am frustrated and have the old 'why me lord' sort of feeling about what was my first trader buy off this forum! But the predicament we find ourselves in isn't any fault of the mods. Communication (or lack of it) from traders will determine just how big a dollup of cr*p people find themselves in. We just have to take it on the chin so to speak, and prepare ourselves for the worst whilst hoping for the best. And throughout it all hopefully maintaining a good attitude to our comms - even if that is not reciprocated by CJP (hopefully Tara is just having a day or two off to draw breath from the mess she has been left to clear up). So to that end everyone should put in claims to Paypal if used within 45 days (Paypal will see all these multiple claims pointing to one trader's account), or else as mentioned speak to your credit card company. I just hope nobody has used a debit card... If the items arrive in the meantime then so be it, just cancel the dispute. No harm done. If they don't arrive then you've got yourself a refund, and can look elsewhere. It can take 4 or 5 weeks in transit on a ship depending on the route it takes and the place of departure (don't know where the coilovers are made), but I would be concerned if it should take another two weeks (mid-April) to arrive as I think waiting another two weeks is pushing far too close to the 45 day Paypal limit (certainly for me anyway).
  12. Hmmm, a quick Google shows there are a few horror stories around about the exhausts this lot have made up for people. I think I'll pass, but thanks anyway.
  13. The current tailpipe bends downward Noel, so is that the original? To fit a straight end tip I would need to get the hacksaw out.
  14. I was looking for a decent standard replacement - I guess it will have to be a Kwikfit type jobbie. I suppose they are all much the same as each other... I don't want to replace the CAT if I don't need to as they are silly money IMO. These guys are local to me and are good in not ripping peeps off. This link takes you to their parts breakdown for a Starlet exhaust with costs. http://www.bushtyres.co.uk/exhausts/search.htm?make=38&model=561&body=4&engine=132&year=2158&submit_button=Find+Exhausts £246 for the cat! My car only cost £995! What parts on a 15 year old exhaust could need replacing more than others do you think? Gaskets and rubber mounts?
  15. Clearly I have my facts wrong it's 92 start for cats isn't it. Not >01 as I thought I'd read somewhere. Doh.
  16. Rest easy, that's been asked by others (me for one) and replied to positively by Tara.
  17. £60 sounds like bargain for you for sure If this is the first new exhaust on the car (probably is I'd say), I take it it doesn't have to be be fitted with a cat as a pre-01 registered car? Assuming you can get non-cat exhausts these days....
  18. I'm not looking to use a new exhaust for power gains on my stock n/a car, but I would like to make sure I don't get a turkey exhaust system. I was planning to use a standard supply + fitting chain or local place rather than buy an exhaust separately and have it fitted, so i'm looking for a national place that sells good standard exhausts. Looks are not important, but if it did have a nice tail pipe then it would be a bonus Not sure what sort of money it will be either for a full system? What should I look to pay?
  19. Well done chap.. but don't think you are a driving god just yet! Take it easy for a while, even if you are not a bad driver there are plenty of others out there on the roads who are, and you can't teach experience (sadly).
  20. Ok, James has said the DGR coilovers are on the boat.. Which is good. But is he stopping trading altogether? What about the 2 yr warranty that he was going to front on the coilovers? Who (if anybody) is going to pick that up? If CJP is not going to be around anymore it would be beneficial if James as a customer of DGR direct can get clarity that they will honour the warranty.
  21. Has the order gone in to DGR yet? I'm trying to line up a chap to fit then, and I've told him first week in April. Is that about right?
