haggis Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 There is a vacum hose on efi pipe... relocation doesnt have a place for this hose . What to do ? Quote
haggis Posted May 13, 2016 Author Posted May 13, 2016 Hose goes to hard pipe next to rocker cover ? Quote
haggis Posted May 16, 2016 Author Posted May 16, 2016 Pipe goes from efi to a hardpipe near rockercover ... someone must have come accross this ? Quote
Bug679 Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 just block it off like was said already Put a picture up of your setup will help Quote
haggis Posted May 16, 2016 Author Posted May 16, 2016 Went thru the toyotagt forums and eventually found to leave it vented as it relieves pressure from actuator Quote
StuDoc 72 Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 You said in your first post its a vac pipe. Now it relieves pressure which one is it? If its connected between the EFI pipe and the rocker cover then its got nothing to do with the actuator. Quote
StuDoc 72 Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 So now from looking at the thread you bumped up you mean the pipe from the recirc valve. As said in the first response to you block it off at the manifold so the mani does not draw in air. The other black pipe at the bottom of his picture makes the hi/low boost solenoid work. if you have relocated your filter I assume all the black EFI pipe work is gone so just loop the hose back onto the solenoid or remove the solenoid altogether. You then need to vent the top nipple on the actuator to the atmosphere not the recirc valve or the vac pipe on the mani. Quote
haggis Posted May 17, 2016 Author Posted May 17, 2016 okay cheers stu. yes its the pipe going to actuator. i will just leave it open to atmosphere.would like to just remove the solenoid altogether but cant find tutorial cheers Quote
dan106 Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 (edited) Solenoid is very easy to remove, if you just look at the pipes and where they go it's very straight forward Edit: This is mine removed Onbviously when you relocate the air filter the actuator vents to atomsphere then one vaccum line from the dump valve up to the inlet Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Edited May 18, 2016 by dan106 Quote
haggis Posted May 18, 2016 Author Posted May 18, 2016 okay guys so fitted today and left actuator hose venting to atmosphere "tie wrapped" to side of dump valve and now the car wont boost past 2 bars (little green lights) Quote
dan106 Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 (edited) Take the pipe of the actuator port and just leave the metal pipe there If that port is blocked or blanked off it will run low boost This is mine after I relocated the filter Edited May 18, 2016 by dan106 Quote
haggis Posted May 18, 2016 Author Posted May 18, 2016 okay so remove actuator hose from metal pipe and still not boosting properlychecked all hoses and look fine . efi pipe was bastard to get and got a bit ruffer then i would of liked with it but dont see any cracks in intercooler pipeworkare you supsoed to relocate oil filter as the hose is hard up against it ?any chance the filter is not pullong enouhj air in ?peed off Quote
haggis Posted May 18, 2016 Author Posted May 18, 2016 oh and seems to get 3 bars when light throttle low gears but when i pick up speed or put the foot down it instally drops to 2 barssounds like a boost leak Quote
dan106 Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Put up some pictures of what you've done Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
haggis Posted May 18, 2016 Author Posted May 18, 2016 right MASSIVE SCHOOLBOY ERROR...basically the filter has like a circular hardstop inside (almost same size as intake pipe ) and i had bottomed it out on the pipe hahamoved it back an inch or so and now its boosting like a champinfact its well more rapid off the line now so worried im actually getting creepgot decat, jam ecu etc but not uprated mani or front mount yet so para i melt a piston ( need to get a boost gauge)so thumbs up to monstermotorsport for this one however the pipe is a fair bit longer than it needs to be ( got about 1.5 in clearance from rad and just shy of hitting the bracket in the middle where the bumper latch is)also the rubber elbow is hard up against oil filter which is a bit scary Quote
Bug679 Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 What all have you done to this car man ? And you've no boost gauge but a jam ECU and decat ? Have you turned the boost up ? What's happening here Quote
patman Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 I don't want to read anymore of this post, it's not looking good Quote
Bug679 Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 I don't want to read anymore of this post, it's not looking good You said it man but am gonna start following it now 🙈💨👀 Quote
haggis Posted May 18, 2016 Author Posted May 18, 2016 nah standard actuator and boost, gauge on order Quote
