T-dog Posted May 19, 2016 Author Posted May 19, 2016 looks like its just a sensor if the pressure drops maybe ?thats what it looks like to me just wondering if anybody has ever seen one or had dealings with one 👍🏼low brake fluid warning that's on the cylinder with the grey plug Quote
funny onion Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 Hmm not sure then. have you traced wires back? there's a wiring diagram available on TGTT that may shed some light. or if all else fails unplug it and see what happens haha Quote
starletezy Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 Its a master cylinder diaphragm position sensor mostly seen on newer cars what year is the car mate must be a 98 spec? Quote
Amjad Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 Didn't think Starlets had these. Looks like a sensor for the level, Mum's MK5 Jetta has one I spotted when topping up fluid last time Quote
starletezy Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 Its a sensor that reads the position of the rubber diaphragm in the booster. The sensor on the brake fluid bottle is the level sensor Quote
StuDoc 72 Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 Is/was your car an auto? This has nothing to do with fluid level folks it goes into the servo not the master cylinder. Theres no fluid in the servo just a rubber diaphram to increase the force you press on the pedal so the car actually stops. Its a vacuum sensor and most likely your car is either one of the later models or was previously an Auto. Quote
starletezy Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 Only newer cars have these if it's an 98 spec It may fall into that category. Quote
